Welcome back to Self Defense Situation - Part 81. In this series of posts, we usually talk about different situations and what you can do to defend yourself and get back home safe. If you read the previous post about defending yourself against a road rage attack, you know dealing with a situation like this can be dangerous.

When you are in the car, you have some advantages and disadvantages. The attacker finds it difficult to hit you with something because you are inside the car. He can hit the car with the baseball bat or break the glasses. In case you stay in the same position in the car, you might get hit. You can avoid that if you move to the other seat.

When you are in the car, you have limited options. You cannot attack the attacker or there are some limited moves that you can make. If you get out of the car, you need to know how to defend yourself against a baseball bat.

Now you know why we are talking about a baseball bat. The guy comes out with a baseball bat, and if you pay attention to what he is saying, there is a high chance that he will attack with the baseball bat.

In this video, you see that the guy tells to get out of the car and he gives some space. In a real-life situation, you might not get that space. As soon as you get out of the car, you will be attacked with the baseball bat.

In order to avoid that, you can get out of the car before he gets close to you or if he gets close to you, you can get out of the car on the opposite side. In case the attacker is close to you and swings the bat, you have to make your move to defend yourself.

You can get close to him and defend the attack with your hands. Your hands will contact with his hands. You have to pay attention to the timing. Timing is very important when you make your move. If you step back as a defense, he will attack you again. It is better to step in and stop the attacker right there. As soon as you grab his hands, strike him. You can do knee charge, elbow strike, hit on the foot and so on.
