Fairies - Let your imagination go

I believe in fairies in the same way I believe in Santa Clause... 

You know there is not really a big fat man with a red suit flying around the earth on a sleigh and delivering presents (in one night) to children that behaved well, but the magic and the IDEA of him sure is fun and magical.

I feel the same way about fairies - I love the idea of them (I am not going to say I do not believe they exist.... I may hurt their feelings :))

I love to sit in my garden and think that somewhere there are some fairies hiding and playing.

And NO, if you were wondering, I do not have little fairy houses and statues and trinkets of fairies in my house.....I prefer my fairies alive and in my garden hahahaha.

For my fellow believers (or lets say believers in the idea), here is some extra information on the fairies you may find if you look hard enough....

• The Pixie - these fairies has a human like form and is about 6" tall.  They are attracted by children laughing and playing and love gardens and flowering plants.  They are naughty and playful and will take objects from humans, just to return it later (looking for your keys and then you suddenly find it in a place you have already looked a few times? Just saying).  They live in a monarchy and is ruled by a king and queen.

• Trooping fairies - they are about the same size as pixies but do not have wings and they travel together in long processions.  The males wear green jackets and they live in the forest in the underbrush.  They will also live in trees.

• Brownies - they wear brown clothes and also has a darker skin than the other fairies.  They do not have wings but are very good climbers.  They are clever and good natured and they are also known as household fairies and they will help out in the house of deserving humans.  (mine tend to forget to pitch up or maybe have a party each night and forget to clean up and since they are nocturnal they leave before the sun rises)

• Fauns - a creature of the woodlands forest. They have horns and a body of a goat below the waist and a human at the top.  They practice mind control and magic conjured from their pipes and flutes.  If you ever see one, avert your eyes, otherwise you are under their spell and they can be dangerous.

• The Gnome - these wonderful creatures are known for their healing power of wildlife, so they are an obvious favourite of mine.  They wear a red pointed hat and green or blue jackets.  On rare occassion they can be found in your house, but prefer to dwell in nature.

There are many more to be found in your garden, like the Hobgoblin, Elves and Grundels.  

Do not worry that your cat will catch one of these creatures because cats are great friends to all types of fairies - have you ever seen how your cat plays in the garden?  

Just look closely and you will see he has fairy friends all around him.

If you want to do some good for the fairies, build them a house and place it in your garden, just that you show them you like the IDEA of them being around....

And if you think this is all a lot of nonsense - it is time to find your inner child, let go of reality and fly....

You can build a fairy castle, and who knows, maybe they will come....
