Topic: The Tongue Training
Class: JSS 2

Behavioural Objectives; During and at the end of the lesson,the students should be able to;
i) Identify the vowel letters
ii) pronounce some words
iii) Transcribe some words
Introduction: Thee teacher writes a sentence on the board which is a tongue twister, then tells the pupils to read the words starting slowly and then gradually increasing the pace.
Step 1
The teacher writes out the following words an individual words and ask the pupils to read the words individually. The words includes:
Somewhere
Similar
Someone
Solely
Said
Sonia
Sunny
Sang
Song
Somewhat
Step 2
The teacher listens carefully to each of the pupil pronounce the words. He pauses them and makes corrections where necessary. The Teacher should encourage each of the learners to take turns in reading (pronunciation practice)
Step 3
The Teacher tries to combine all the words that the pupils read as individual words into a sentence. At this point the teacher should take the first attempt in pronouncing (reading the tongue twisting sentence) Note, each of the words in the sentence should be properly articulated and read clearly to avoid misunderstanding.

Tongue Twister practice: Somewhere somewhat, someone said Sunny sang a similar song solely to Sonia.
Evaluation
The teacher would call each of the learner to his desk to do a face to face assessment of the learning outcome. He would as the following questions.
- How did you read the individual words at the first time? Slowly or Fast?
- How did you read the words the second and probably the third time? Slowly or Fast?
- How did you pronounce the following words? a.Sunny, Similar, Song, Sonia? Loud and Clear or Quite and Faint?
Home work:
Transcribe all the 10 words used in the tongue twister.
