I've been working hard on a tweaked version of an Earthship home that I want to make as a model for ecoVillages. This design has been tweaked from the previous version in MANY ways to improve the performance, and ease of build. The entire structure is now based upon one wall, and it is designed to pick up most of the winter sun and far less of the summer sun. The left side (west facing) has no windows and is a thick tyre wall, which will also be bermed with dirt on that side. This will reduce the hot sun of the long summer days on the hottest west side of the house.
Hope you like it! This is still quite rough in terms of any exact layouts. Furniture is just to denote the type or room and will look very different in the finished model. Im not quite ready for interior design yet... The same is for windows, and doors..
I believe this model has a great chance of being able to perform extremely well in Portugal. The proof will of course be in the building, and testing! There is a LOT to say as to why i believe this, and I will be making a post and good explanation to show you the dynamics of this building with the sun.

My only suggestion would be to increase the green house area. 50 sq. ft. is said to be enough to feed a family of 4.
