Moving, or not?
In this everchanging and hard to predict world we live in, a lot of us are facing things that we've never had to deal with. In many places, even travel and movement is being banned, or at least heavily discouraged.
I spent a while yesterday looking at a number of properties near us with a real estate agent. It was a favor for a friend, who is many hours away, but considering a relocation to our general area. At the moment, though, he tells me that he can't even legally sell his house.... Can we even move right now?
What are things like in your area? Can you still move or sell a property? Are things like hunting or fishing temporarily banned? Can you still purchase garden seeds at the stores there? In some areas, people are telling me that such things are not even allowed anymore...

Well, I know we can still purchase garden seeds at the hardware store in Kansas. I haven't tried to do any of the other things yet. Fortunately, thanks to your efforts, if things get worse, I know how to make a salad out of the "weeds" in my back yard.

Well, here in Germany its not illegal to buy or sell property, as far as I know. However, things could be delayed, since many municipal offices are closed or work on a "home office" base. Same as lawyers, too.
Flower seeds are still available in DIY Markets which are still open with certain rules of keeping distance between people. And you can mail order them, I guess.
Fishing and hunting is not allowed in Germany anyway, Corona or not. Unless you have special permits. A fishing permit is not too difficult to get, but one for hunting is a real task. You need to do extensive learning on wildlife, protection regulations and so on. And then you need to get a weapon permit as well, which is always a problem here.
If you have all that, I can't see why someone is denied to sit alone at a river bank, or sneak around in a forest which you usually have to rent if you want to hunt - you can't just go into any random forest.
Mostly the current restrictions are aimed to keep people from gathering. Sports events, concerts, restaurants, pubs, all the places where people come together are closed.

This is from a different perspective, from a Central American country.
Probably not sell property, mostly because the market completely froze over. With the uncertainty, individuals are not buying. Moving... NO. There is no interstate travel. Within the city, limited travel as well.
I would also add.. your friend has the right idea to move to a rural area where you can grow your own food and live simpler lives. The economic impact that continues unrolling will take decades to recover (i think). Money will not save anyone, live free options will.

I don't know about the real estate here, but we can still get seeds. I ordered mine through Baker Creek. Wasn't too much variety, but I got what I wanted.
This is definitely a time to sit and reflect on what we have been taking for granted. We went shopping yesterday and it was so depressing. No one talks to each other, no one smiles. The grocery store had one-way arrows all over the floor to make sure people only went in one direction. It feels like we're being treated like animals.
