How a healthy mind helps organize our body

Concerns on all issues are growing around the world, survival is becoming increasingly difficult in many countries, and conflicts are on the rise for the most absurd reasons, no matter how important they may seem to those involved. Yet, despite all this, there is a growing desire to achieve better health.

Of course, this is not the case everywhere in the world. How can one wish for good health when there is a shortage of food or water, when terrible epidemics of unknown cause break out?

Here we are talking about so-called developed countries in general, although even there it becomes difficult to maintain a certain standard of living. In these countries, however, health has become a constant concern. And not only health but also food.

It’s surprising to see that while hundreds of people are juggling trying to make ends meet, there is a growing problem of obesity and overweight, starting in childhood. At the same time, for others, extreme thinness has become an obsessive fashion.

Either we become extremely contradictory, or we don’t want to analyze what’s going on around us.

Consider the best case scenario, a situation where, for example, we have the opportunity to fill our shopping cart with all kinds of goods. We are so saturated with different advertisements that we no longer know what is good and what is bad for our health. In the end, we are distrustful of everything that is offered to us…

While some praise one product as the best for health and stopping aging, there are others who denigrate it as a life-threatening poison. What are we to do? Who is right and how to choose what is most suitable for us?

Completely opposite diets are promoted; what some approve of, others attack.

In the same way, many therapeutic procedures are questioned; what was good until yesterday is no longer recommended and even banned today. Ancient techniques are abandoned as harmful, while new experimental treatments are welcome, even if their final outcomes are not fully known. There is a lot of talk about the placebo effect of some drugs, to the point that we conclude: even if it is true, what does it matter as long as they make us feel better. Doesn't this notorious "placebo effect" include some other functions of the human body that are triggered by certain stimuli?

We will leave the issue of food (for those who can feed themselves) to experts. We are convinced that the Earth should be treated better by those who exploit it. Industrialization, competition in production, and prices have led to natural products ceasing to be natural. What a paradox - organic products are far more expensive than those coming from large distributors!

We believe we should look for a varied and simple diet; exaggeration with spices does not come from the Earth, but from our desire to spice everything up.

As far as health is concerned, we are convinced that in addition to those diseases that certainly originate from the body, many come from other aspects of ourselves. If our mind is not in good shape, if our emotions are disordered, if we are overly tired and hyperactive, what can we expect from a body that mirrors ourselves?

The mind in good condition has neatly organized ideas and avoids doubts and conflicts of different ideas, which never leads to the necessary clarity. A healthy mind also helps organize the body.

Do we know how to rest regardless of the time we have at our disposal? Not if the mind is buzzing with the ideas we are chewing and if we are troubled by emotions. In this way we fall into the other extreme to "not think," or into laziness to "think of nothing."

Health, which is affected by all aspects of the human being, including good education based on the highest moral values, deserves special attention from all. If we all enjoyed good health, it is possible that many of the world’s problems would begin to be addressed in all the areas that plague us today.
