Freshwater lake is a volcanic lake formed due to a volcanic eruption. Currently Laut Tawar lake is the largest supplier of clean water sources in the Takengon area and its surroundings.
In the Laut Tawar lake there are also many fresh water fish which can be used as a source of animal protein for the community.
