Good morning my admirable steemians, co-debators of this great and friendly debate, my readers and a heart warming greetings to @sahmie the organiser of this debate. It's the talk of the town on which is better riches or happiness?. I'm here today to support the motion that says that happiness is better than riches with the following points of mine👇🏾.

"I'm currently coping with daily anxieties, physical and emotional distress, it's even hard to find meaning and purpose in my life". I'm quoting what a teenager said to his therapist regarding his state of being unhappy. According to his therapist, his feelings can lead to untimely death. What exactly is he thinking about that's making him feel distress and unhappy all his life? The only thought going through his mind is to make money and become rich. Now the question of the day is, does riches guarantee happiness?

A Nigerian artist by name Adekunle Gold once sang ""Money no dey bring happiness o, na when i get money i realise o". Citizens criticize him and most of them unfollowed him on social media just because he said the truth which most of them take it as rubbish. It's true, money can't guarantee you happiness.

I met one wealthy man and we talked about being rich and wealthy, he said to me, "Materialistic way of life does clear the path or unlock the door to happiness, how i wish i didn't pursue riches with passion". When you're rich in the society people take you as a big man, don't forget big man, big problems. My number one point why i choose happiness over riches is that being rich can't give you real happiness.

Okay, let's look at it this way, our God values family so much that's why he stated it right from the garden of eden. His expectations was to see them happy always, how do you think God will feel seeing you make money and riches all your life without having time for your family? He'll feel bad. My number two point why i choose happiness over riches is that pursuing wealth and riches won't strengthen your family bond.

Health is wealth they say. A happy person will be satisfied with the little he has and this will guarantee him real happiness, off course he's healthy and wealthy in his own world because he has nothing to worry about. How about rich people? That fear of being killed, robbed or kidnapped will live within them and this surely will deprive them of happiness. Do you know how much rich people spend everyday just for a common treatment? They barely sleep well at night because that thought of being robbed can't get off their nerves. I'll rather remain poor and forever find happiness than being rich then can't sleep two eyes closed

I've noticed two things here on Steemit regarding happiness. @goodybest @patjewell and @aaliarubab are people that value happiness over riches. Why I'm i so convinced? Take a look at their pictures on Steemit, always happy and smiling☺️, what else would you ask for?

We shouldn't be beguiled by the deceptive power of riches because even those pursuing riches just to get happiness end up losing it entirely. I'm sure and hopeful that with the following points of mine, I'm able to convince but not confuse you that Happiness😊 is better that riches💴.
