The Debate (no.15); Street Smart is Better than Book Smart

Hello steemians all over the globe! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. I want to take out this time to appreciate every one here for taking time to read this interesting debate topic by our amazing Fashion and Style community. I am very much excited to participate in this contest to debate on the subject topic "STREET SMART IS BETTER THAN BOOK SMART". Big thanks to our excellent moderators for putting up this amazing contest.

Introduction

Before I go further, I think it is imperative to know what Book Smart and Street Smart is.
Book Smarts people to my opinion are those that learned all that they have to know in school. While on the other hand Street Smarts people are those folks that learned all that they have to know by practically doing it by themselves, they may learn by their experience and mistakes but not through school.

The two sides of the coin has there own directions, beauty and destination to life. Whichever choice you made as touching to both has the power to define or determine your purpose, goals, your level of achievements and impact in life.

Street Smart is Better than Book Smart

Those that are Book smart type may have a lot of interlectual knowledge and can as well excel accademically, but may lack the ability and technical know how to handle real-life or real-world situations effectively.

While on the other hand, the street smart type may have inadequate knowledge book wise, but trust me, they appear to be more experts at handling every situation that comes their way.

Permit me to ask, what good is knowledge if you can’t use it? Street smarts may be limited in there educational level compared to Book Smart, but they know how to apply their expertise in the real world. They’ve been through challenging situations and learned from their mistakes.

Street smart people may not probably have received any form of formal learning as in the case of Book Smart who went through school. However, they learn from practical life experience rather than books. Just like this saying that "experience is the best teacher"; as a Street Smart you have years of experience that has trained you to be confident in any given situation, no matter how challenging it may seem at first glance. Those experience has made you master practical situations.

A Street Smart may not be born a genius like a book smart person, but has learned to managed on how to rely on his gut instinct to get to where he is today.

Street smart people believes that the best way to learn something is by doing it, just as it is in the case of apprenticeship which gives room to practical knowledge than Book Smart on the other hand who may be learning on the book without even having a touch of the reality. eg. Roadside Mechanic with someone studying Automobile Engineering.

Street Smart people are masters of real life experience. Their years of experience have awarded them with the wisdom of the world, and they know how to make the best of every situation than Book Smart.

Street Smarts are endowed with practical skills and common sense needed to deal with situations unlike Book Smart.

Street-smarts do take advantage of their years of experience in terms of decision making in certain situations rather than making a decision based on facts, which could be unfavorable.

Just like I said earlier, Street Smarts people are experts and have clear cut wisdom in handling every situation that comes their way. This is because of what they have been through and learned by their personal experience.

If you want to handle any situation that comes your way, street smarts are essential. Indeed, your expertise is not tested by how well you memorize information but measured by your ability to roll with the punches of life outside the book.

Being practical is better than theory. The world of today is more practical than theory. So many Book Smarts after school do end up in depending on white collar jobs, so many of them do end up without job and end up depending on the Street Smart for survival.

Somany rich people even millionaires in my country are not Book Smart but rather Street Smart.

Conclusion

With the above-mentioned points, I hope I've been able to convince all my readers and friends beyond reasonable doubt that being Street Smart is far better than being Book Smart.
