Stories, learnings and reflection #07/(The other Side of Life)

Hello deary Steemians, it's another moment of insight into reality via the Stories, learnings and reflection #07 contest hosted by our very own @alexanderpeace. Today I will be telling us a real life Story I Tittled The other side of life It is a story of a man who ruined his marriage, family and business because of his wife's greediness.

Lemme begin by acknowledging the fact that I was not aware of the origin of this story but the outcome pushed me to make further enquires until the whole details were revealed to me.

I met a young man who spent all is time planting water leaf and pumpkin beside a Church fence. I never bothered myself because, I felt anyone would do that for leisure. The whole thing was alarming when I noticed that this man sleeps in his farm on many occasions. This incident pushed me towards making enquires about him. Initially I had bad responses like "leave that man oooo" others would just jump into conclusions that he is reaping the fruits of his labours.

While I was not satisfied with this responses, I just accepted them until one day, I met a man who claimed to be his childhood friend. The event was such a coincidence one as I and the friend met him in his farm land watering his little vegetables. They refused to exchange pleasantries and the friend decided to open up the life and times of that man to me.

He addressed him as someone who saw lots of money at a very tender age and decided to go into marriage at the age of 25. Being 25 was not just the issue, the issue was that the supposed wife was someone who had already married and divorced a marriage of five children. Sadly enough, the five children were living with her. The parents guided him against such marriage but he refused and went ahead to marry the 37 plus aged woman.

After their marriage, the woman had a legal case with her ex husband which made the new husband to deposit everything he had into the case. As if that was not enough, she convinced the man of how demonic and satanic his parents were with the aim of coveting both the man and his properties. She even accused them of being the cause of all the suffering they were passing through, assuring him that if he breaks away from the family their problems would be solved. Following his wife advice, the man became furious with his parents and on many occasions threaten to harm them. As if that was not enough, he went ahead and published the disowning of his parents.

He went very extreme to the point of changing his name to a new one and publishing it on news paper that the man he had been with for years was never his real father. People tried cautioning him yet he refused to hear. The friends tried advising him and he became very angry to the point of quitting their friendship (including the one who narrated the story to me).

Now, years has passed and the man has become very poor without money, the step children grew up to reconcile their mother to their biological father leaving the man lonely and empty.

It was at this point that he began to experience the other side of life. He went back to his family and realized that his dad and mom died and where buried so he decided to ask for his portion of the family properties.

His only junior brother refused to give him a dime reasons being that he wasn't his brother. He went as far as bringing evidence of him changing his name and disowning his parents. With the piled up evidences, this man went away in shame and disgrace regretting every bit of his actions. Since he had nothing and no one to turn to, he decided to start the little vegetable farm beside a Church fence of which no one knows what would become of him when the church turns on him.

This story gives credence to the saying that goes what an aged person visualize while sitting down I younger person can never visualize even if he climbs the highest mountain in application, if only he had listened to his parents advice concerning marriage he would have ha entered the very wrong marriage he did. As such, it teaches me the value of giving attentive ears to advices especially when it's from the aged.

The man's regretting ever changing his name and disowning his father is another impact the story has on me. It has taught me never to things or take decisions when ever I am in pressure. Rather, I should always stay back and make all the necessary findings and perhaps the consequences that a particular action would bring both in the long run and short term.

The children bringing back their mother to her dear husband points to the fact that conflicts could be resolved provided there's a suitable bridge to connect and resolve it. It also exposes me to the importance of family. Stressing the fact that it is family before every other thing. Thanks so much for the privilege to share this story.
