What is your understanding of the statement "The pen is mightier than the sword"?

In my understanding, this statement is more directed towards the realm of communication, meaning that writing is more effective in communicating than the power of the sword which must use violence.

This statement can also be concluded that peace is better than war, that's why this statement came out because someone who made this proverb wanted to show the world that peace is beautiful and if you want to communicate, communicate well without having to use violence like a pen which is considered mightier than a sword.

Can words be more influential than actions?

Of course it can, the proof is that many people are influenced by hearing speeches that move their hearts and are indoctrinated to believe something, because if actions are used as a tool to influence others, then other people can feel offended which makes people not affected.

Therefore, I think words are certainly stronger than actions if the words can be conveyed well.

When is diplomacy more effective than violence?

Diplomacy is indeed considered more effective than violence because diplomacy can invite world peace and sympathy, and diplomacy can also produce agreements without violence that can endanger anyone.

Is a balance between words and actions necessary?

This is also very necessary, because if words alone will not be enough to make a change, if words without action then it is the same as a lie that makes us not trusted by others.

Although words are very effective in making a big influence, action is also needed to realize these words, with a balance between words and actions then everything will be more perfect and balanced.

How does technology affect today's debate?

With increasingly sophisticated and developing technology, debates are not as interesting as when there was no technology at all, because the debate was only because there was a flaw in the information received by one party.

With technology like today, when we feel doubtful about the information we get, we can immediately ask Google to complete the information we receive so that we can avoid debate.

This is my entry for Contest: The Debate (Week 39); Pen or Sword, who's mightier? which is organized by my brother @sahmie, I would also like to invite @dekki, buk @suryati1 and pak @teukuipul87 to participate together in this contest.
