How to change SBD to Steem by @lusciouslucy

Recently, I discovered that SBD is back and this came with an uproar from many steemians expressing their delight concerning the new development.

As stated by @dequeen, I quote;

SBD is known as Steemit Backed Dollar. It is part of rewards a user receives on the blockchain after seven days or when our post pay out.

The concept of SBD is quite interesting as well as a motivation for many steemians to build their content creation skills.

✅ Did you know about sbd or is it something new to you?

I would say it's something new to me, since I've never earned in SBD.

But when I joined steemit, I was told about SBD and I even read from a steemian's blog in my early days on the platform stating how SBD helped solve certain issues at the time and how beneficial it is.

Unfortunately since I've never benefitted from it at the time, I never bothered to know more about it. Steem was all I knew until recently and this contest has pushed me to knowing more about SBD.

In the cause of my research, I came across this from a one time steemian and it has helped me gain better understanding of SBD alongside other articles I found.

SBD has been in existence for over 7 years, and due to certain changes, stopped printing regularly for every post. SBD was made to create stability on the platform and prints when the liquid steem in the market is high.

✅ How has the arrival of SBDs influenced the growth of Account.

Permit me to use future tenses to speak.
I have some posts that will pay out in few days time. The upvote is not really massive but it's there. The post will payout with SBD, and considering the value of SBD to steem, the payout will be more than the numerical value on the post when converted to steem.

I see myself reaching my first 500SP and beyond sooner than anticipated of course with consistency in publishing due to this recent development. With SBD, every vote counts literally.

With my Steem Power getting higher, I would be able to make value worth upvote on post and earn considerably from curation rewards. It will also enable me earn substantial amount when the post payout.

If I must add, with SBD printing, it's motivating to brainstorm in order to publish quality content, comment and engage all of this adds to the growth of an account and also create visibility.

✅ Briefly explain how to convert SBD to steem.

SBD can be converted to steem on the platform.

STEP 1: Sign in to steemit wallet. Since no be activity can be done on the site without signing in.

STEP 2: When logged in, scroll down to Steem Dollars, and click on the arrow to bring out the options, then click on market.
This will take you to the steemit market.

STEP 3: Assuming I want to trade 1 SBD, I indicate that in the column with SBD on the Buy Steem menu since I want to buy and not sell. And then the amount of Steem I'll be getting in return pops up which is about 13.5 steem. If the price is okay by me, I go ahead to continue by clicking Buy Steem.

STEP 4: This brings me to the confirmatory page where I clicked OK and the steem token will be transferred to my Steem balance.

✅ Do you consider that it is better to receive rewards directly in Steem or do you prefer them in SBD? Why

I prefer rewards in SBD.

With rewards paid as SBD, it's easier to gain more from post payout, boost account and as well convert to other crypto currencies. $1 from upvote paid as SBD is higher than when paid as steem and the most interesting part is that SBD can to converted to steem giving users voting power. Although SBD pays out a fraction of the upvote value, it's relatively better.
