Pakistan is inhabited by different ethnic groups, and each ethnic group has its own cultural dress that they like to wear on special occasions. For example, the Pathan people have their own cultural dress; the Baloch people have their own cultural dress; and the Punjabi people have their own cultural dress.

I live in the Punjab province of Pakistan, and the cultural dress of most people in this province is shalwar and kameez. People from Punjab, like Punjabi people, are very fond of wearing shalwar kameez on their special occasions. This attire is very simple and very elegant.

This dress is a long cultural dress of our province, and people have been wearing it for centuries. Our Quaid-e-Azam loved to wear this dress. These are not only men's clothes, but women also like to wear shalwar kameez, which are mostly worn in Punjab. So this is my typical cultural dress.

If you talk about wearing it, I wear it two to three times throughout the week, and especially on Fridays, I definitely wear it because I pray wearing this attire in Friday prayers. Also, I like to wear it to weddings and other important events. I can also call it the most worn dress in Pakistan.

List and describe the activities for which you use this cultural attire.

As I have told you above, I wear this outfit for many activities, but now I will tell you about some of the activities for which I wear it the most.

• Marriages

First of all, I wear this cultural dress for weddings. If any person in our family is getting married, then I like to wear this dress on his wedding. I like to wear this dress on the third day of weddings.

• Parties

Also, I use this dress for parties, etc. If any kind of party is organised in our university, then I like to wear this dress to that party. Also, I wear it to other university events like Islamic festivals, exam days, and other important events.

• Friday's prayer

Friday is the only day I wear this dress with great passion because I have to wear it for Friday prayers, and most people like to wear it on Fridays. It is sunnah to wear clean and well-dressed clothes on Fridays.

• Big festivals

I love to wear this dress on big festivals like Eid Milad-ul-Nabi, Eid-ul-Fitr, and other famous and big festivals in Pakistan. Most people in Punjab like to wear this dress on special occasions.

Do you think your cultural attire is unique and how much does it cost in your country's currency?

This dress is not so unique as it is worn with great interest in quite a few countries on the continent of Asia. Because Pakistan and India used to be together, now it is worn in some areas of India and also in Pakistan. Also, it is also worn well in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, so I can't call it completely unique in that regard.

If we talk about the price of that dress, its price is different for different fabrics; for example, if the fabric of this dress is good, then its price will be higher, and if its fabric is not good, then it will be low in price. The more money you pay for this dress, the better it will be.

If I talk about its price in Pakistan, then its price starts at one thousand rupees and goes up to about 10 to 20 thousand rupees. But it all depends on you; you can buy this dress according to your affordability. If we talk about the price in STEEM, it starts at 16 STEEM and goes up to 333 STEEM.
