The Wood Broke Unexpectedly |
---|
Ok I have decided to participate in this contest this week again. Last week I talked about the first day of December 2024. Today I will be talking about how we kept the vestments we washed that morning. The wood connected to the rope where we normally air those vestments/clothes broke that morning against our wish. I give special thanks to @ashkhan for still organizing this contest.
At the ending of last month the younger altar servers and I were washing our vestments and that of our Reverend father's vestments when the stick broke and we have already spread some vestments on it. It was a huge disaster because the boys and I had to rewash those vestments that fell on the ground as a result of the broken stick. We shifted the stick to one corner, the stick is very old because it has been there for years so wasn't surprised to see it break but I didn't expect such thing to happen that day.
We rewashed them and I instructed the boys to go inside the church and bring some plastic chairs so that we can put the vestments on top them under the sun for them to dry. They boys obeyed immediately and discovered it was a very wonderful idea. They came back with more than 6 chairs and arranged them round each other. We finished washing all the vestments and sacred linens then kept them perfectly on top the chairs and went inside the church for rehearsals.
We did rehearsals twice before I made a list of those that will serve mass in the following week from the next day which was the last Sunday of November also, Christ The King day. I was almost confused in selecting those that will serve the Christ the king procession because so many boys were capable of serving it and I also want to be with them in that procession but after much thinking I finally selected the right persons.
We closed for the day and I instructed two boys to enjoy they come back to the church in the evening to take the vestments, chairs and sacred linens inside the church because they must have gotten dried by then. We all went home and I was finally opportuned to study and blog in steemit at home. Yes I had some important things to do for the rest of that day, I was glad it was my sister's off day so I didn't escort anybody home in the midnight. Thanks for reading friends, I just hope we get a new stick and rope for drying our vestments.
