Memories of the year 2024 @sbamsoneu

Introduction

As I sit down to retrospect how my 2024 have been, I can’t help but say “thank you Jesus, for ending my year well”. The year 2024 is a year that I can’t quickly forget in a hurry because a lot happened. I made some errors that almost cause me my former job, I gained new followers and friends on Steemit and I achieved a milestone.

The year started with a breakup with my girlfriend. Although I wasn’t surprised because I saw it coming. I work in a school and what I earned wasn’t enough to sort myself out, let alone, meet the demands of my girl.
I tried to the best of my ability but it wasn’t enough. So, when the breakup came, we pathed ways peacefully. I had to hustle more and I kept applying for jobs.

February, came with its own drama. I’d a quarrel with my dad’s tenant who had been told to vacate the premises but it didn’t occur to me to give him a written document that contains the “quit notice”, Instead, I told him verbally. The day his rent expired, I gave him extra 5 months to sort himself out. Towards the end of the fifth month, he made a petition against me and police was sent to arrest me.

Since I’m hardly at home, the tenant couldn’t predict my movement. So, he told the police that I’ll be around on Valentine’s Day, unfortunately for him, I know longer had a girlfriend again to spend Valentine’s Day with. When the police arrived in the early hours of the morning , I was not in the house but since our Nigeria police can’t just come and go back empty handed, they had to arrest my aunt, in order to bring me out. Thanks to God, all the issues was sorted peacefully.

April was the month I lost my beloved grandma. I missed her a lot. She used to be the one to teach me my native dialect. Whenever I go to visit her in her home, she won’t allow us communicate in English language. According to her, our generation has refused to learn our native language and we need to preserve our culture. She died at the age of 96 years.

Around may, there was a little celebration in the house. We had my big sis and her baby celebrating that same month and it was also her 12 years wedding anniversary. We decided to do some little get together in the house with family members. Sadly, towards the end of may, I lost a cousin of mine to the cold hands of death during a surgical operation. It was really devastating because he was the only son in the family.

June had lots of events. i and my kid brother was born on June. That was actually the first time a Nigerian lady was taking me out. Our girls hardly spend their money on a guy because of how we were raised. Men are meant to do all the spending, while the ladies money is for hers only and same thing happens in the families. But a lot is now changing, women now support their guys or husbands but I will say the chances of seeing such lady is rare because only 25% practice it. On the month of June was also the burial ceremony of my grandmother and my cousins. We thankGod it was a successful event.

August

August , I had a follow from one of the big whales from steemit. I was really happy that day because it means that I’m in their radar and I’ve not disappointed since my return. Although, I’ve been a bit lazy this past few days in making post, i will turn a new leaf this year 2025.

september

September, I met my target of achieving 2000sp in a space of one year since I returned back to steemit. That’s another remarkable journey I will always cherish. Thanks to the upvotes from the friends I’ve made here on Steemit, it won’t have been possible. This year, I plan to exceed 5k steem power and by the grace of God, it will come to pass because I’m looking forward to the day my upvote will make meaningful impact and not just give them 0.001 steem…. Lol.

November

Then on November, the big one happened. I finally got a job in a bank. That was one of the biggest achievements so far. It was an exciting moment for me, when I was called to resume work. Although, I’m new with bank stuff but it has been an exciting experience so far.

My little challenge so far will be trying to meet up with work and steemit but I’ve already mapped out plans on how to do it. I just hope everything falls in place without any unforeseen circumstances.
