"Physical Therapy Intervention"
Physical therapy intervention is used to bring your joints and muscles back to their right position and release the pain which is stored in it, this is actually exercise or physical therapy which involves a lot of ways to restore your body parts.
Tennis Elbow
- Tennis Elbow is a pain or strain stuck in the elbow. Due to this inflammation occurs in the affected side of the elbow. Mainly, the wrist area and elbow sides are affected due to this, the reason behind this overuse of the specific areas.
- In healthy people, it happens due to sports; like tennis and also cricket in which these areas are affected with repeated use of the joints. I have also faced this issue, I was playing cricket; doing fast bowling and my wrist muscles restored pain in it's muscles, moreover, riding a bike also cause this inflammation in the wrist areas due to the continuous pull and release of the clutch.
- However, in older people; the muscles changes it's shape and becomes weak, thus, tennis elbow becomes common.
Survey shows that pain is recognized during wrist and arm movement. It can be due to physical work or exercising.
Types | Affect |
Acute Tennis Elbow | It is caused due to injury in the elbow or wrist region. |
Chronic Tennis Elbow | A severe pain or long lasting strain due to overuse or repeated use of the wrist and elbow region. |
diagnosing a Tennis Elbow
Diagnosing a tennis elbow involves physical exercise; physiotherapist does the therapy for you, there are practical exercise involvements. Physiotherapist works on your wrist and affected elbow. Moreover, a chiropractor can resolve the problem by pulling your wrist and elbow string in a correct way to deal the pain.
- X-rays, MRI and CT scan do the test for you provide you the results of the problem.
Special Test | Ways |
Cozen's Test | Examiner extends the hand of the patient and applies force to check the pain. |
Mills Test | Wrist is flexed, pain is felt in the lateral elbow. |
Maudsley's Test | Moving or extending the middle finger, again pain feeled at the lateral elbow muscle. |
Resisted Wrist Extension Test | Here, patient will force his hands against the examiner resistance to test the pain. |
Middle Finger Test | Wrist is stabilized here and force is applied to the middle finger of the patient to test the pain. |
- Ball squeezing was giving me a little pain in the wrist region, as I mentioned above that the clutch pulling and releasing continuously, left a little tension in my wrist muscle.
- This exercise was completely normal, I didn't faced any problem or difficulty with it. My muscle were completely relaxed with this exercise, a complete benefit to my hands.
- Wrist flexor stretch gave me a severe pain. It were pulling my hand's muscle strings, I think my wrist muscle's were affected due to fast bowling in cricket. My wrist holded the pain after the bowling session, my muscles gained pain. This flex was very difficult to perform, my wrist back muscles were hurting. But it was beneficial for the arm to stretch my muscles to relax my hand's pain.
Wrist Isometric Exercises |
- The front and end stretch was a difficult one to perform and the side one's were fine. My hand become a little warmer at the start, later it was relaxed with continuously doing the exercise.
In the end, I will say that all the stretches which were resisting my affected region cause pain and my body started becoming warmer, the warming was, like that someone is inserting needles into my head and my upper back, sweating started on my front upper head.
