The frequent ailment known as tennis elbow or lateral epicondylitis causes pain and soreness in the elbow's outside region. This occurs as a result of overuse or straining of the forearm's muscles and tendons frequently from repetitive motions like gripping or raising. Particularly while performing activities requiring hand or wrist movements the pain may begin gradually and get worse with time. Repetitive strain on the tendons and forearm muscles that connect to the bony region outside the elbow is the primary cause of tennis elbow. How would you diagnose a tennis elbow? Any clinical investigation or assessment tests? |
---|
Understanding the patient symptoms and everyday activities is the first step in diagnosing tennis elbow. Any soreness around the outer elbow particularly when grasping raising or twisting will be inquired about by a physician or therapist. Additionally they will assess whether the discomfort worsens with particular motions or activities. This makes it easier to determine if the problem is due to a minor injury or repetitive arm use. Accurate diagnosis requires knowledge of the patient routine and physical habits. A physical examination comes next. In order to identify any painful places and assess for stiffness or swelling the physician will apply light pressure to the elbow.
To check if the discomfort gets worse they could also urge the patient to do easy exercises like raising a small object or making a fist. These examinations assist in identifying the trouble spot and verifying whether tennis elbow or another arm ailment is the cause. Special tests are occasionally employed to validate the diagnosis. In order to determine whether the pain gets worse they entail moving the wrist or forearm against resistance. The doctor can determine the extent of the tendons' damage with the use of these quick and easy tests. Although X-rays and other imaging tests are not typically required they may be performed in extreme or uncommon circumstances to rule out other issues.
Try to practice at least 3 exercises that you have learned from the lesson. Share images gifs or videos while practicing preferably gifs or videos. |

Ball Squeezing
Finger Stretch
Wrist Flexors Stretch
Wrist Isometric Exercises
Share your review after performing these exercises either on yourself healthy individual or patient.
While the isometric workouts strengthened my forearm muscles in various directions the stretches aided increase wrist flexibility. Although maintaining the positions required concentration it was satisfying. For those recuperating from tennis elbow or wishing to avoid such problems these workouts are perfect. After performing these exercises regularly I noticed a general increase in my strength and flexibility. After trying these exercises I realized how helpful they are for building stronger hands and forearms. Following several repetitions.
I invite @shano49 @malikusman1 and @saboohi to take participate in this contest

¡Saludos amiga!🤗

Thank you for understanding the lesson and sharing your assignment; I hope that you will enjoy this week's lesson and try to implement it in your life if you see any such case.
Observations
Task 1 (2.6/3)
You have shared a great knowledge about tennis elbow, its symptoms, cause, but didn't add its types. It would be better to add explanation of the types of tennis elbow. I appreciate your effort.
Task 2 (2.6/3)
In the second question, you tell us about how you have to assess a patient by doing physical examination, history taking, and investigations. But didn't add special tests. It would be better to add explanation of investigations and special tests too. Good.
Task 3 (3.8/4)
You try the finger stretches, wrist flexor stretch, ball squeezing and wrist isometric exercises. You did the finger stretches, ball squeezing, wrist isometric exercises and wrist flexor stretch correctly. It would be better to add the gifs or videos while performing these exercises. Always remember to apply heat pack in chronic condition and ice pack in acute condition before performing exercises to relax the muscles and reduce stiffness. I appreciate your efforts.
Overall you made a great attempt to answer all the questions. I appreciate your efforts. But next time try to avoid the above written suggestions. Keep learning and try to implement your knowledge to the people suffering from tennis elbow or any type of wrist. Thank you.
