Floral Collages. Something to brighten up your day.
I was going through some of my floral images and decided to share a few of my floral collages with you today to brighten up your day. There's nothing quite like the beauty of flowers to lift ones spirits and ignite a renewed sense of connection to nature, especially after this prolonged isolation we are all having to deal with.
Ranunculus:
These are one of my favourite flowers......but I guess I say that about a lot of flowers (lol) It could be because of their similarity to roses or perhaps their luxurious, satiny petals, and their beautiful, varied colours which glow in the sun. Not only do they provide a magnificent display in gardens, they also last a long time as cut flowers in a vase and grow well in containers too.
Poppies:
I'd have to say that poppies are one of my favourite flowers. (You've probably heard me say that before) Originally from Eurasia and North America, this genus has about 50 species and although diverse, they are recognized for their distinctive characteristics. Poppies are hardy but thrive in full sun with aerated, well-drained soil. Generally, poppies are raised from seeds unless they are one of the perennial cultivars. Red poppies are considered as ‘The Flower of Love’ in Persian literature, especially red corn poppies and they are often referred to as ‘The Eternal Lover’ flower.
Tulips:
What other flower can match the beauty of the glorious and colourful tulip? Unless of course you are talking about Ranunculus or Poppies . Did you know that there are over 6,000 cultivars available around the world? They are available in a wide range of colours and even shapes; all having the tall elegant stature which is so easily recognizable. The Tulip (Tulipa) is a member of the Liliaceae family. The word tulip is thought to be derived from a Persian word for turban. They love temperate climates and flower in the spring.
