Steemit Engagement Challenge - S6W4: The Skill I would most like to Learn (Fashion Design)

This is Steemit Engagement Challenge season 6 of week 4 in Steem Indonesia Community and I am pleased to drop my participation and engage with other users in this community.

The purpose of this contest is to share the skill that we would like to learn/ acquire.
In life, a person has several skills he/ she has learnt or would want to learn and in the course of doing so, other things are required to achieve it.

I have many skills that I am admiring and most likely want to learn them and I would say that; it is very possible to learn all if I am capable of gathering the resources and get the facilities needed.

Now, I will channel my focus on just one that I really want to learn as soon as possible and try to make my entry brief and interesting to read by using the contest tips as guideline.

The skill that I would like to learn is; fashion design (sewing).
A fashion designer create his/her own designs on footwears, clothes and other accessories example; earings with fabrics and a pattern for the desired style.

Reasons Why I Want to Learn the Skill

This is a personal skill that I have always wanted to learn for myself and my family.
It is less expensive when you can cut, sew and design your own clothes by yourself.
Although, fabrics are quite expensive now but it is better to buy and make your favourite design without having to pay someone (seamstress) to do it and most times, they might likely disappoint.

However, not every dress are meant to be sewed outside.
There are times I always feel like making myself simple dress like; an A cut gown or free gown urgently and I will end up getting disappointed or charged much money because it is an urgent work.
Basically, the reason why I want to learn the skill is for self use only not for business.

What is the Best way to Acquire this Skill?

• The best way to learn this skill is by having passion for it first, because with that; your heart will be open to learn and understand faster.

• Secondly, practicing is another way to learn the skill. After registering and attending the physical classes, on your free time cut a piece of cloth and design or try to improve on your drawing skills. This way one can learn better.

• Lastly, one of the best way to learn the skill is having a model you look up to, asking question where you do not understand and having your own sewing tools and equipments.

What is Hindering you from Learning the Skill?

I have tried once to learn the skill but got discouraged because I never had a sewing machine. I am yet to set it as my top priority and by then, I will be fast enough to put up the resources needed to start.
Fashion design is one skill I really wanted to learn but lack of facilities has always been my biggest step back. I believe with time this dream will come to reality.
