MY UNDERSTANDING ON WHAT WITNESSES ARE ALL ABOUT IN THE STEEM BLOCKCHAIN

Witnesses are one of the very important aspects of the steemit Blockchain. Anyone on the steem Blockchain can become a witness which is done through votes. Witnesses help in generating blocks and also, approving transactions in the steem Blockchain.

Each person on steemit has the power to vote for a maximum of 30 witnesses only. When a decision in the steemit Blockchain is being made, a good percentage of the witness must agree to the decision before it can be implemented.

ROLES AND FUNCTIONS OF WITNESSES IN THE STEEM BLOCKCHAIN

Witnesses play a very great role in the steemit Blockchain which contributes to the progress of steemit. They created blocks and input them into the Blockchain. Each of these blocks is produced every 63 seconds.

They ensure that all transactions done on the Blockchain are highly secured and also make sure the blockchain is functioning well which helps to increase the confidence of users.

Without the witnesses, there will be so many setbacks in the steemit Blockchain and users will feel insecure about the things going on in the Blockchain, so witnesses are very important.

WHY DO WE NEED TO CHOOSE WITNESS?

I believe choosing a witness is one of our duty as a steemians. Just like I said, without witnesses, the steemit Blockchain will have a lot of sets back which will also affect the users by making them lose confidence in the steemit Blockchain.

Many steemians are very ignorant about the importance of choosing witnesses. They don’t even know that when they choose witnesses, they stand a chance of getting rewarded by the witnesses.

We should also make sure that we choose witnesses that are very active and contribute to the progress of steemit.

We also need to choose witnesses because we need them to create blocks that are being input into the Blockchain which makes all the activities on the Blockchain go smoothly.

Allow users are offered to vote for only a maximum of 20 witnesses. To choose witnesses in the steemit platform, you will first, visit https://steemitwallet.com/~witnesses You will see a page of all the witnesses on the platform, sign in by inputting your username and posting key then you cast your vote by clicking the upvote button of the witness you want to vote for.

All the witnesses I have chosen are very active and they are contributing greatly to the progress of the steemit Blockchain but my preferred witness is @pennsif.witness . @pennsif has been contributing very greatly to the platform. He runs real-life projects and also brought and still brings very beneficial updates to the steemit platform. @pennsif.witness is among the top 20 witnesses on the steemit platform. @pennsif.witness is among the top 20 witnesses on the steemit platform. Judging from what @pennsif.witness has done so far for the progress of the platform, I believe that he will bring more innovations to the steemit platform.
