I hope you are all doing well. Today I will share details about a plan called Holy Basil. We also call it Tulsi. In Hinduism, they worship the holy basil plant. It's native to Southeast Asia. It is mostly used in herbal tea, Ayurveda, and worship.
The plant has violet flowers and blossoms. Sometimes the stems have a purple tinge.
The plant contains vitamins A and C, calcium, zinc, iron, and chlorophyll.
The holy basil plant helps you reduce stress and anxiety. When you consume it, it acts as an adaptogen. This means it helps your body to adapt to the stress and helps with mental balance.
According to a study, people who took 500 milligrammes (mg) of holy basil extract each day felt less anxious, stressed, and depressed. People also felt more social. Source
If you drink the tea using the leaves, it helps you relax, clear your thoughts, and feel good. I also use it in green tea.
The extract derived from the leaves promotes wound healing and provides strength.
If someone is suffering from diabetes, it helps lower the sugar level.
It helps you lose weight and reduce your cholesterol level because it targets your metabolic stress.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, avoid using holy basil. Don't combine it with any other medicine.
You can grow your own plants at home. If you buy from the market, choose organic products.
