Mornings have never looked the same. This is when one can imagine Vietnam’s numerous waterways clothed in fog and mystery. Long before the sun appears, fishermen head out, rowing their boats in waters covered by the gentlest, most diaphanous mist. This is the classic image that one often observes while traveling around Mekong Delta or at the crash in the sea.

The mist sticks to the water, making the early rays of sun almost impossibly bright. Fishermen who have been in the business for many years master such strokes over their wooden watercraft with felicity. Their inadequately lit figures in the mist prove their commitment to their vocation. Fishing Nets have been cast and fishing rods have been prepared – the ballet proceeds, more ancient than any river or lake.

The foggy haze puts a crown to the bare sense of fishing whereby the achievement of every fish landing is acknowledge modestly. The dampness and coolness in the air temptation’s individuals with the smell of the floodplains. For these Defenders of the Dusk, mist is more than the weather; it defines and fills their lives in an even better, exquisite rhythm.
