Teams that finish in the top two(2) of their group table, automatically qualify for the Round-of-16 stage. But these teams are not enough to complete the set of sixteen(16) teams for the Round-of-16 Stage. Fortunately for some of the teams that finished in third(3rd) place, UEFA set out to pick the four(4) best performing teams in third(3) place to add to the twelve(12) that qualified. These lucky teams were;
- Portugal
- Switzerland
- Ukraine
- Czech Republic
The final matches of the Group Stages was ones to really look out for! Quite especially the Group F games between Hungary and Germany, and France and Portugal. Those games were really saw a lot of tensions running high, as all four(4) needed to win. Even though three teams were able to qualify, they really fought very to make it there. After a trying 2:2 draw in both games, Hungary failed to make it into the top three.
Their efforts were really great and nobody expected them to stand up to these three(3) European giants, like they did. Hungary gave them a really tough time. They were like the underdogs who really showed that they had really great potential. Thumbs up to them and better luck next time!
France has been performing quite well and their star-man Karim Benzema has been pulling a lot of strings for them, after scoring their two(2) goals in their previous game against Portugal

Kylian Mbappe is yet to have his first good game in the competition. He hasn't been on the scoresheet since the competition started and he's yet to register even an assist. I feel he still has some time to prove himself to the world on why he is one of the world's best forwards in football.

The next Stage of the competition is going to be really promising. The draws have been out and they're looking very competitive. With some Giants facing each other, This is what the Round-of-16 looks like;
- Belgium vs Portugal
- Italy vs Austria
- France vs Switzerland
- Croatia vs Spain
- Sweden vs Ukraine
- England vs Germany
- Netherlands vs Czech Republic
- Wales vs Denmark
These matches are to look out for! Personally I think Germany, Denmark, Croatia, Belgium, Italy, France, Sweden and Netherlands are going to qualify for the Quarter Finals.
