I bring you greetings from this side hope you all are doing great. Welcome to my blog once more. Today I will be celebrating a Star in Nigeria and the most decorated player in Nigeria.

Nwankwo Kanu aka Papilo is plus one today. He made it known on his Instagram handle yesterday. He celebrated his 45th years birthday yesterday, he was born in August 1 1976. Kanu started his football career in 1990, where he played for ‘Iwuanyanwu National’, based in Enugu State, Nigeria.

After a wonderful display at the Japan U-17 World Championships in 1993, he was signed by the Dutch Eredivisie club side AFC Ajax . Where he won the Champions league and also won some top-flight competitions with AFC Ajax, and made himself a good name at club. Kanu Nwankwo also played for other clubs such as Inter Milan, Arsenal, West Brom and Portsmouth.

Kanu played a significant role for the Nigerian Super Eagles dream team at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. His wonderful performance at the Olympics Tournament made him won the ‘African Footballer of the Year’ award in 1996.

Unfortunately for him he couldn't win the African Cup of Nations before he retired in 2012. Nigeria lost to Cameron at the finals in year 2000 Papilo made a total appearances of 87 for Nigeria, and scored 12 goals for Nigeria Super Eagles.
