Arsenal advanced to fourth place in the English Premier League standings, after winning a precious 2-0 victory over its guest and neighbor West Ham United, today, Wednesday, in the London confrontation that took place between them in the seventeenth stage of the competition.

Arsenal, who won their ninth win against two draws and six defeats in the tournament this season, rose to 29 points in fourth place, qualifying for the Champions League next season, one point ahead of West Ham, fifth.

Young Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring for Arsenal in the 48th minute, before West Ham's suffering doubled, who had to play with ten players after his Czech player Vladimir Koval was sent off in the 67th minute, for receiving a second warning.

Arsenal took advantage of the numerical shortage in the ranks of his opponent, after Emile Smith Roy scored the second goal for the team nicknamed "The Gunners" in the 87th minute, compensating for the penalty kick missed by his colleague Alexandre Lacazette in the 69th minute.
