Greetings everyone!

One thing I know is that once my eyes beheld this sport called football, it was pure love at first sight which has lasted till this day and still grows stronger.

Its a great thing to be part of the @worldoffootball community created for the purpose of sharing this bond with others of like passions. and I truly appreciate the efforts of @njaywan and @worldoffootball in the community so far.

Let me go straight to my validation post because I can't wait to start learning and contributing in this great community.

What posts do you intend to create in this community?

Posts you should expect from me will include my personal football experiences, football players, news and happenings on the leagues around the world, Updates and reviews on the latest transfer deals and signings, news on my favorite club (Favourite Club is defined in my dictionary as any club that Lionel Messi plays for..lol), International matches too. Just expect all things football-related.

What do you understand by the term content etiquette?

I understand Content etiquette as the rules and regulations addressing posts or writings which discourages one to present someone's posts or writing as one's own or to borrow others ideas and present with no reference to them.

'There is no new thing under the sun'- Somewhere in the book of Ecclesiastes.
For every content we discover and wish to share, it is likely that others may have discovered it before hand, and while we can tap into their content and broaden ours, but this must involve recognizing their efforts.

What is plagiarism and how do you intend to refrain from this act?

Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement according to the University of Oxford.

I believe there are two ways to refrain from this act and these are:

  1. Avoiding them totally by creating original posts and using personal or copyright free pictures.
  2. When the above is not possible, then by confirming usage permissions of materials to be used and properly citing them.

I intend to do both.

What do you understand by copyright-abuse?

Copyright abuse or infringement (at times referred to as piracy) is the use of works protected by copyright law without permission for a usage where such permission is required according to Wikipedia which is well understood by me.

So apart from citing sources, its very vital that works used must be Copy right free.

“Copyright free”, when taken literally, simply means that the work is “free of copyright”. This would indicate that it is in the public domain (meaning it's free for public usage) according to PlagarismToday

Where can you find copyright-free images for your posts?

There are a lot of sites that offer copyright-free images. Some are Unsplash,Burst,Pixabay,Stocksnap,PicJumbo,New Old Stock, Google Advanced Image Search

How to properly cite an image or post showing the license details as well:

This is basically using the Google Advanced Image Search
Go to Google and search for the topic you want.
Here I am using Lionel Messi.

how to screenshot on laptop - Google Search - Google Chrome 6_4_2021 11_58_22 AM.png

The search results would then appear showing recent information about the topic of interest.
I need the images so I click the images tab.

While I see many of the player's latest images, a lot of the images are protected by copyright laws and hence are not free to use.
I therefore use the google tools to filter out images with creative common licenses.
Images that are governed by creative common licenses means that the owners of the images have waived their rights for these images making them free to use.

After clicking on 'Tools', then
Click on "Usage Rights" for a drop-down menu.
Select "Creative Commons Licenses".

The new pictures then seen are all governed by creative commons licenses.

However you should always check the license, to cross-check that an image can be used for free. This is achieved by clicking on the image you want and opening the license details beneath it.

Once the license details indicate free to use, modify, share and adapt, you are free to go ahead and use it.

IMPORTANT: you should still cite your source below the image and this is carried out using this format. [source](insert the link to the image here) as well as the license like this [License details](link to the License) .

What is the consequence of plagiarism and copyright abuse in this community?

The consequences of copyright abuse in the world of football has been spelt out here by @worldoffootball to be a complete ban from the community or muting of the offender so he or she won't be able to share in this community.

I am well aware of the rules of this community as well as the norms of steemit and will abide by them at all times.
