COULD MEMPHIS DEPAY FIT IN SUAREZ'S ROLE?

Some few days ago, Barcelona announced their newest signing to join the club on a free transfer, Memphis Depay. This move from the dutch forward was gingered by his aspiration to play for his dream soccer team, Barcelona F.C. Who could blame him for wanting to play with one of the top teams in the world?

After the departure of Louis Suarez, there seems to be a gap in the forward and as a striker(though there's Braithwaite to talk about), this role could suit him perfectly. Then again, the arrival of Sergio Aguero from Man City who has proven to be physically fit in the Copa America can bring competition for the role.

But Depay doesn't seem to see it that way. He sees the possibility of all three of them playing alongside each other in different roles if Barcelona chooses to go with their preferred 4-3-3. Messi is known to be the playmaker of the team but Memphis could also do some playmaking himself. I think the game will still revolve around Messi but it all boils down to how the other players fit together.

This is not the first time Memphis Depay is playing under Ronald Koeman since he has been managed under him for the Netherland national team. They seem to get along already and really likes Koeman's tactics making him to further believe he will have a good time at Barcelona.

For a 27 year old, I think he is in a great form considering the various number of goals and assists he continues to produce. Just in Barcelona's recent friendly match against Girona, he scored a beautiful top angle penalty kick for his side. This marked his first goal after becoming a culer. Hopefully we can see more of this.

I just wish he won't fall out of place in the midst of all those stars in Barcelona. We have seen a number of such scenarios with Griezman being one of them. I just wish him all the best with his new club.

Though his time at United wasn't that great, I really wish him the best at his new club and I hope the transfers going on within these great clubs will bring new and tougher challenges in the football world.
