First of all I want to make one thing clear, I am from Honduras and Mexico is the biggest rival we always face in any regional tournament so on a national team basis we don't see on the same frequency. On the individual team level it is different theMexican league is a whole level above us so we do admire and watch the Mexican league games, I mean a few years back we received Tijuana in La Ceiba and just in the warming up you could see the professional difference they have over us. Here most of us have our favorite Mexican teams, mine is America but my second one is Tigres.
Now Tigres had lost three Concacaf finals and finally this year they were able to become champions and gain their place in the World Club Cup finals. And boy did they do it good, they got to the final, something no other Concacaf team had been able to do. In fact only three other Non European or South American teams had gotten this far, two African confederation teams and one Asian confederation team. So At last Concacaf have had a team in the final.
I was unfortunate, I had to make a trip and in the town where I am in the cable networks had no single channel televising the game. But I have read the summaries and my son also phoned me with his summary, Ok Bayern as expected, controlled the game and of course won, but 1-0, realistically all of us who were rooting for Tigres were not expecting a win, most of all we wanted the team to show itself as what it is a very good team playing against a juggernaut.
Bayern had one goal disallowed because of an offside and I have to tell you I just saw the principal plays of the game and I am quite sure that Pavard's goal comes from a Lewandowski arm ball it should not have counted. But even if it had been disallowed I have no doubt that in the end Bayern would have won, they were the better team.
So Kudos to Bayern for their cup win and congratulations to Tigres for making all of us Concacaf fans proud.
