Football Techniques - How to improve skills on the ground

On the football field, during the game, a football player moves using the following techniques: fast and slow running, long and high jumps, turns in place and in motion, as well as stopping.

During a football match, players have to drastically change their running speed, as well as combine running with jumps, sudden stops, turns and turns in place and in motion. These techniques require from a football player not only a high level of physical fitness, but also professional technical skill. This entire technical arsenal of techniques and methods of movement is very tightly interconnected with the ability of all team players to handle the ball, to strike the ball at the opponent's goal, to make accurate passes to partners, to defend their goal from the opponent's kicks.

Using the technical elements of the movement of team players in a complex, it is possible to effectively solve many tactical tasks during the game, for example, such as: to occupy an advantageous playing position in relation to the opponent,

Running is the primary means of transportation when playing football.

The following types of running are used: regular running, backward, cross step, side step.

Normal running is used by players as a rule to move in a straight line - to step on the ball, to move to an empty spot, to chase an opponent, to perform jerks and accelerations, as well as when creating offside positions, and so on.

Actually, such running practically does not differ from athletics running.

Backward running is mainly used by football players during the period of taking the ball and “closing” the “alien” player. This type of running is characterized by short, mincing strides.

To change the direction of movement, when jerking from a place to the right or left, as a result of the completed turns, in most cases, they will adopt a cross-step run. The distinctive features of such a run include carrying the swing leg crosswise in front of the supporting leg and a short flight phase.

Often in football, they use side-step running. In all kinds of game situations, this is a preliminary type of running before performing a jump or before performing other actions.

Jumping is an integral part of the technique of some strikes on the ball, stopping a rolling and flying ball with the chest, leg, head and when performing various feints. Using jumps, they perform certain techniques of stops and turns. Indicate the 3 phases of the execution of any jump: the take-off phase, the flight phase and the landing phase.

There are 2 techniques that contribute to the execution of jumps: a push with one and two legs.

Jumps in which a push with one leg is used are characterized by intense repulsion, which is accompanied by a swinging movement of the leg and the transfer of the center of gravity of the body towards the jump. Landing takes place on 1 or two legs.

When performing a jump with a push with 2 legs from a place, before pushing off, the football player “deeply” squats, then quickly straightens his legs, immediately making a swinging movement with his arms forward and up. In order to perform a running jump before taking off, a stopping leg is made, at the time of squatting, a second leg is attached to it. Then the realization of the phases of take-off, flight and landing occurs in the same way as after making a jump from the spot.

Stops are considered a successful means of changing the direction of travel. Two techniques are used to stop the game: a jump and a lunge.

In order to stop with a jump, a low, short jump is performed, landing occurs on the swinging leg, which is slightly bent at the knee to give greater stability. Landing is often done on two legs.

The lunge stop is performed during the final running stride. The fly leg is put forward with an emphasis on the heel, and then goes to the foot.

After the player has stopped moving in the other direction is applied. Therefore, the final position at the stop is considered the starting position for further actions.

Cornering is used to minimize the loss of speed when changing direction. A turn performed on the spot often turns into another initial action. The pivot is part of the technique for performing various kicks, stops, dips and dribbles. Turns are performed not only in one place, but also when the player moves.

It is necessary to teach young football players to move around the field from the first training sessions. Professional footballers need to improve their technique constantly until the end of their sports career.

When using exercises to teach football players the technique of movement, it is necessary that they meet the following requirements:

The exercises should include the basic techniques and methods of technical movements of a football player, as well as their combinations.

Exercises must be performed at a variable pace and they must take into account the specific technical movements of the players on the football field during the game.
