Hello my steemians! Today i tell some words for the biggest stadium of my town!
Name. "Panthessalian Stadium"
Spectator record: 21,597
The Panthessaliko Stadium is located in Volos (320 km from Athens and 250 from Thessaloniki), where you can also reach by train. The stadium itself is located on the northern outskirts of Volos, about 1.5 km from the center of the Municipality of Nea Ionia. Access is easy via the new ring road. Just before entering Volos from the National Road (from Velestino, not from Nea Anchialos) you have to turn on the ring road through the uneven junction. You will see the stadium on your right, next to the road, after about a kilometer.
Information: The reason for the construction of the Panthessaliko Stadium was the football tournament of the 2004 Olympic Games. The new stadium was built on the site of an unfinished stadium that previously existed in the same area, in Nea Ionia, Volos.
Construction work began in mid-2002. The works were the responsibility of a joint venture of the companies Techniki Olympiaki, Athenaiki Techniki, Intracom Construction and Cybarco and were completed in June 2004. The total cost amounted to € 50,000,000. The Panthessaliko Stadium was inaugurated on March 30, 2004 with the friendly match between the Olympic teams of Greece and Australia, although the project had not yet been fully completed.
Panthessaliko has been used after the Olympic Games from time to time as a home by both Niki Volou and Olympiakos Volou. The stadium also hosted the Greek Cup final in 2007.
Nice stadium, which explains a lot about the price.
At first, I thought it was the team of Panathinaikos. Wait, do they train there?
Greece has some impressive teams like Olympiacos, AEK Athens, etc.
