Very funny how the EPL look like now, you can barely regard a team as being "small" , and the competition out there is extremely high. We've got 2 more cracker games today as Tottenham hosts Leicester City, and Manchester United welcome Leeds United.
Tottenham vs Leicester City:
Mourinho's men will be looking to set aside their defeat to Liverpool in their midweek game. Liverpool's rout away from home to Palace yesterday showed how improved Spurs are now. However, they will be up against Leicester City, another in form team who will also be looking forward to putting aside their mid week loss to Everton.
This game will definitely be a tough one for both teams since they are fully aware how important a win will be for the victor, and how drastic a loss will be for the loser. Mourinho will definitely want to keep the pressure on Liverpool as well, so losing a point at this moment isn't allowed, and the same goes with Brendan Rodgers.
If I am to choose a side, I will go in favour of Spurs though, and here are my 2 cogent reasons:
Leicester City's Inconsistency: The Foxes have proven tines without number that they are not a consistent side. They lose games you don't expect them to lose(against Fulham for instance), and drop points in matches you least expect(at home to Everton), unlike an organized Tottenham side, who aside their first game of the season, a loss to Everton, haven't lost to any other team until they fell to Liverpool. This point is further strengthened considering how porous the backline of Leicester is, you can't have that kind of defence and expect yoiir team to survive a Kane-Sun onslaught. I bet the Foxes will have a lot in their hands tomorrow.
Head to Head:
In their previous last 7 games, Spurs have claimed 5 of these games with the last as recent as this year and at this same venue. I bet Mourinho's men will want to repeat the win once again, although, the scoreline might be different.
You shouldn't underestimate Leicester City though as they could be very dangerous on days when they are in their element, but Tottenham's improvement and coordination this season, to me, should help them(Tottenham) take all 3 points.
Manchester United vs Leeds United:
Hmm, another game where experience will take the day. We've seen how undaunted Leeds can be against big opponents eg Man City and Everton, they go all out, showing no sign of being daunted by any of these sides, In short, they've really impressed beyond my imagination. However, we've also seen how they could fizzle out when they come against big opponents eg Chelsea, Leicester City, Wolves, and even a struggling Arsenal.
The Red devis are in a good momentum at the moment, you ready don't want to go against. Aside their losses to PSG and Leipzig, they've been practically outstanding. It seems theyve now figured out themselves. We saw their comebacks against West ham and Southampton, how they heid an inform Chelsea side(back then) and Manchester City to stalemates. They're a very much transformed side now, and this is what Leeds should also be scared of.
If I am to pick sides, I will go with Ole's men, but I can bet Leeds will definitely get a goal if not 2, that's something Manchester United haven't gotten a cure for when they play against lesser teams.
Another key fact that will make United go all out for a win is that they will want to make sure the gap between they and Liverpool is as little as possible. A win in this game and in their outstanding game will reduce the gap difference to just 2 points. They sure won't want to pass this opportunity.
I beleive we will get an entertaining game from both ends.
Feel free to drop your opinions and comments. They will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
