Both Arsenal and Manchester United got needed victories over Brighton and Wolves respectively, although none of the 2 victors got it all their way.

Brighton & Hove Albion 0:1 Arsenal:

Arsenal increased their wins to 2 in as many games as they defeated Brighton at The American Express Community Stadium. This was just after they(Arsenal) got a scintillating 3-1 victory over Chelsea on boxing day.

Although Brighton put in a big fight, there was nothing they could do to stop Alexander Lacazette's 66th minute finish from a wonderful Bukayo Saka's pass(2 players who were on the scoresheet against Chelsea in their last victory), and the Gunners ensured to keep the scoreline that way to the end.

This will be a big boost for the Gunners as they continue to bounce back from their previous woeful performances. Hopefully, they should be able to build more on these victories as they face off against lowly WestBromwish Albion in their next game a day after New Year.

The only downside to this victory is the injury sustained by Bukayo Saka. Arteta will surely not be pleased with this.

Manchester United 1:0 Wolverhampton Wanderers:

As analyzed in my article EPL Matchday 16: Manchester United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers., the red devils were made to work hard for their victory as Wolves put on a resilient display as expected.

Although Wolves started on a stronger foot and could have possibly had a share of the spoil, they were unfortunate to concede a late 93rd minute goal from Marcus Rashford. Rashford saw his shot deflected past Rui Patricio into the back of the net after he recieved a sumptuous pass from the ever in form Bruno Fernandez first, and dribbled past the opposition defense.

This win moves United up to 2nd position with just 2 points behind League leaders, Liverpool, and 1 point above both Leicester City and Everton although, the former have played more games.

Another upside to this win is the fact that United were able to manage a cleansheet, they really did a great job with this I must say.

Their next game will be a tricky one as they will be hosting an amazing Aston Villa side on the first day of New Year. It will definitely be a game to look forward to.

Feel free to drop your opinions and comments, they will be greatly appreciated.

Much Love.
