Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been handed a six month ban from driving after court found him guilty on Monday.

Apart from the six month ban, Wan-Bissaka was fined more than £30,000.

Wan-Bissaka already had six points on his licence from a conviction in London in April 2020, the court heard.

All effort by his lawyer Shaun Draycott to see him escape, proved abortive as the judge handed out his verdict.

Here are two offences Wan-Bissaka committed that got him six months driving ban.

  1. Driving without insurance: Aaron Wan-Bissaka was caught driving without a valid insurance by police.

The 24-year-old right-back admitted earlier in 2021 to driving while disqualified and without insurance after being stopped by police in Manchester on June 23 returning from a break abroad.

Even in Nigeria, driving without a comprehensive or third party car insurance is a big offence and police will not take it lightly if caught.

His lawyer argued that the player had changed his home address since joining Manchester United in 2019 and did not get letters sent to his postal box.

But District Judge Bernard Begley ruled that Wan-Bissaka must have been sent about seven letters to the said address.

  1. Failure to provide driver details: Another offence Wan-Bissaka was punished for was his failure to show driver details on two occasions.

On Monday, ahead of a scheduled trial he also pleaded guilty to failing to provide driver details for two speeding offences in Bradford, West Yorkshire, in September 2020.

His refusal to provide driving information saw him incure additional fines totalling £1,500.
The player however claimed that he was not aware of his disqualification last year.

Good work dear

Thanks alot @chidinmaeke31

Very bad to be hearing this news. Players like Bissaka are not expected to be doing these things but let's hope everything gets well. This should serve as a warning to him.
