Why selling Antoine Griezmann to Atletico is not a bad move? || My Opinion has a Barcelona fan

In the last 48 hours, concrete rumors about Griezmann's possible return to Atletico Madrid have circulated. According to reports in the media, Barcelona is interested in trading Griezmann for Saul and some cash. The swap agreement has reportedly peaked Atletico Madrid's interest. The roadblock appears to be the additional money Barcelona is demanding from Atletico in addition to Saul's signature.

The Barcelona fans have had a mixed reaction to the swap deal. As a Barcelona supporter, I appreciate the need for the club to reduce its wage bill while simultaneously paying off some debts.

I'm going to try to make some point for this transfer in this post.

REDUCE THE WAGE BILL

The main purpose for this transfer is to reduce the wage bill. Griezmann is currently Barcelona's highest-paid player. Messi is out of contract, and his new planned contract includes a significant pay decrease, putting him below Griezmann.

Griezmann earns more than €30 million a year. Even if he gives his all, his exorbitant compensation is unjustified. Barcelona is overpaying him, there is no doubt about that. The club's management is aiming to cut and reduce wages bills and has identified the club's best earners as prospective transfer candidates. Coutinho, Pjanic, Roberto, and Griezmann are among the players in this category.

As a result, this deal appears to be a significant step toward reducing the salary bill.

GRIEZMANN WILL NEVER ADJUST IN THE TEAM

Griezmann has never been a striker in his career, he was always the secondary striker, a free roaming attacker. In the French National Team, he plays in a free role behind the striker, I.e Olivier Giroud. He plays the same role with Messi's, hence the two cannot be on the field at the same time. Even if they play together, neither of them will be able to perform to their full potential.

Most notably, the team has signed two strikers Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay. Fati is doing well and will return to the squad soon. Dembele is anticipated to re-new by the club, and Collado (Barca B) is expected to be promoted. As a result, the club has far too many forwards. Fitting all of these forwards into one team would be a daunting feat.

Finally, Griezmann hasn't been his best since joining Barcelona.

DON'T LET A GOOD DEAL SLIP AWAY

Personally, If we can get Saul and some money for Griezmann, it seems like a fair bargain.

Take a closer look at this, even Griezmann does not have any bids from other clubs, and Atletico appears to be quite eager in bringing him back. His age is also a significant role. He's 30 years old, and his worth is about to plummet. In comparison to Dembele, he doesn't have many golden years remaining in him. We'd have to get rid of him either this summer or next. It's the ideal moment for him to wrap up his transfer to his preferred club in a professional manner.

CONCLUSION

This deal might go through or it could fall apart. It may not be the best deal Barcelona has ever made (Financially), but it is one that the club requires. Personally, I'd like to see this deal completed. To some extent, it would be a win-win situation for all parties concerned (Barcelona and Atletico Madrid)

Well, I've always thought he was better off at Atletico looking at their style of play. It surprises me how much play time he even got at Barcelona.

*Yes, the reason is because Atletico playing style is counter attack unlike Barcelona that want to control the game and tap in before they score.

You hardly see Barca make crosses or score from set piece..
