Greetings everyone,
The long awaited Euros 2020 begins in about two days with the first match between Turkey and Italy of Group A. Most of us expect Italy to emerge the winners due to the kind of squad they currently possess but I think we should consider all possibilities.

Although I see players like Ciro Immobile, Lorenzo Insigne and Frederico Chiesa completely dominating the fore front, we can't forget that football is always full of surprises and this is exactly what happened to Netherlands in the World Cup Qualifications.
I don't think Turkey was underestimated in that match, I just think they proved to be the better side especially during attacks. It is no secret that Netherlands have world class players on their side with the likes of Memphis Depay, Wijnaldum, Frankie De Jong, Van De Beek and many other great players on their side.
And quite frankly, with their squad depth, I expected Netherlands to push on ahead in terms of points and solidify their position at the top of the Group G standings.
Although it was a good fight between the two, Turkey gained total control after scoring those two goals in the first half. According to the stats, Netherlands still had lots of possessions and good entry towards Turkey's 18 yard, but once the third goal strikes, it is very difficult to come back from that.
The match ended 4 - 2 in favor of Turkey but I must admit, it was possible largely due the great finishing by Burak Yilmaz as well as the great concentration of the goal keeper to save 5 out of the shots he faced.

With this in mind, it would be reasonable for Italy to leave no stones unturned in the quest to secure victory. I expect both teams to bring the A games to the field and give their best for a good start of the group stage matches.
I think Turkey's manager Senol Gunes would probably lead with a similar 4-1-4-1 formation as he did against Netherlands. This would be effective in combating the dangerous attack of Italy at the same time having an extra player in front to initiate counter attacks and score on breaks.

I think Turkey has a very solid team and could prove stubborn for Italy....but the Italians are a rejuvenated side and full of confidence based on their recent form....I see a 2:1 victory for the Italians

Bueno amigo para ser honesto pienso que Italia ganara, pero los turcos tienen muy buen equipo y han estado jugando muy bien.
Particularmente también tome en cuenta ese juego contra Holanda, y no solo ese, si puedes notar contra Francia también jugaron muy bien. Así que pienso sera un buen partido.

It is no coincidence that Turkey beat the Netherlands, everybody saw how we played against France before, I believe we can make a surprise against Italy. I hope Turkey wins this tournament.
