Hello, #worldoffootball community, I know it's been long overdue for me to Introduce myself to everyone in this community, I hope you find it in your hearts to forgive me cause finally here I am.

My name is Samuel (but as your friend, you can call me Sahmie or Big sam), I am a 26 years old indigene of Bayelsa State, Nigeria.

I love sports in general, but my love for swimming and football is unmatched, which pushed me to a becoming a Stan of football and Arsenal (even though Arsenal have made me cry more than Onion), Lol. I love making new friends, watching loads of movies, love listening to music too.
I know for my verification post, I am to answer certain questions so let me go straight into it.

What posts do you intend to create in this community?

I hope to share with everyone in this prestigious community my knowledge on matters concerning the sport I love football, as we are in a #worldoffootball community, I am never tired of football discussion even though #Arsenal keeps fumbling and mumbling (please don't ask why Arsenal), but on a bigger scale, I would love to share my knowledge of sports in general.

What do you understand by the term content etiquette?
20211130_220107.png
While doing my achievement post in the newcomer's community, I came across this same topic and I was happy I did.
My understanding about this is that these are the "DO'S" and DON'T'S" in an environment one finds him/herself. In other words, they are the rules and regulations overseeing a society or a community.

What is plagiarism and how do you intend to refrain from this act?
20211130_220107.png
Another topic I came in contact with within the newcomer's community. I was made to understand that when someone takes another persons idea/work and present it as theirs. It is more liking to an identity thief, claiming to be who you're not, which is a serious offence with loads of consequences to follow. To avoid such consequences is the right thing to do, and to do so is just by citing the source of that which was not you I.e letting the readers/followers know it isn't originally yours but someone of which you borrowed. And sometimes, even after writing from your thoughts, it still tallies with someone's work, to avoid that I use apps such as plagiarism checkers to be sure it's my work.

What do you understand by copyright abuse?
20211130_220107.png
According to the Article by Woye Famojuro and Amara Nedolisa, copyright abuse is the infringement and pirating of an author's exclusive right via the unauthorised usage or production of a copyrighted or copyright-protected work. In other words, using someone's copyrighted work (picture, text or video) with seeking their approval. This is an incriminating offence that can/may lead to Lawsuits from the copyright owner, and if found guilty may lead to jail time for the offender.
To be on the safer side, one can get copyright-free images from the sites listed below;

  1. Pixabay
  2. Pexels
  3. Splitshire
  4. Life Of Pix
  5. Stock Snap
  6. Unsplash

For some reason, I seem to favour Pixabay. But, there's a problem even with this site, which you don't get to find some of the images you need. So another way to solve this is by using Google search. To do that, follow the steps below;

  1. Open your browser (better with chrome) and search for your image of interest(i.e car, player, trophy etc). For this post, let's use "Walcott".

  2. Your search results will appear showing information about Walcott. Since we are interested in his images, click on the images tab.

  3. Images about Walcott will show. But bear in mind, most of them are copyrighted. However, some are overseen by creative commons licenses. This means that the owners of such images have retired their rights for these images, thereby making them free for use by anyone who desires. To filter such images out for use, click the tools button.

  4. After clicking the tools button, scroll right to the "Usage Rights" tab

    20211201_181320.png
    and click for a drop-down menu. Then, select "Creative Commons Licenses".

  5. On the next window, the newly displayed images are all operated by creative commons licenses of which you can use.
    20211201_181716.png

  6. To make sure these images can be used for free, you should check the license. This can be done by opening the required image on another page or by clicking on the preferred image and opening the license details beneath it.

  7. Once the license details reveals free to use, alter, share and adapt, you can now use it as you see fit.
    20211201_182058.png Either by downloading first(Red) or sharing it direct(Blue).

And to cite this free to use image properly, one as to cite the link to the image and at the same time the link to the licence as shown below.
