Greetings everyone,
Yesterday we witnessed yet another El classic between Barcelona and the Real Madrid giants. On this occasion, one thing that was quite noticeable was the stadium capacity of the Nou Camp. It is simply ridiculous. It looked as if the entire stium was full to the brim and yet we could see numerous fans striving to enter.
This could be associated with the simple fact that the Camp has an impressive 99,000+ capacity. At times you would even think that people are overflowing the top stances.
Even though the likes of Santiago Bernabeu is big, it is still at 80,000+ capacity and the San Siro comes short at 70,000+. So for Europe, Barcelona's Camp Nou has the highest capacity.
This is not very surprising if you look at it critically considering the Number of great players that have passed through that club. The likes of Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Ronaldinho and Puyol have all passed through this great club making it worthy of such a fanbase.
Not only that, the trophy case of Barcelona is quite enormous with several Champions league titles, la liga titles, copa del rey, and so on. I think it is worthy of its accolades.
This is perhaps why footballers are very fearful of this Camp when facing the Catalans. But I think that fear is dying down a bit simply because of the lack of consistency in Barca at the moment. There need to be a change.
Thank you for your attention.
The world fourth biggest stadium and football clubs biggest stadium. It is quite normal that fans will tremble to watch such a big game.
Sure the fans always make noise definitely to put fear in their opponents but I think that did not work on yesterday's game.
