It makes a lot of sense to do so. Thank you.

The timing of substitution is strategic. The 5 player substitute was implemented during the breakdown of coronavirus pandemic and it was because of the welfare of the players because we were not in normal times. The suspension of football due to covid-19 had a lot of impact on the players especially those who were spending time with their families and didn’t train. There is going to be a lot of injuries because of lack of training and Combining with a lot of games in a short period of time is very alarming so the ideal substitute rule must be 5 so that it helps managers have their key players always fit for the next match.
We are still not in normal times and if it’s adopted it will help prevent injuries as well as allows us to enjoy quality football till the end of the 90 minutes. The ideal 5 substitution rule will help as know the difference between good and a bad coach because some of them are very fortunate for the positive side and give best clubs with advantage as the negative side.
In conclusion, 5 substitution rule should be the number of ideal substitution in football.

Nicely explained. Thanks.

I think the ideal number of substitute in football game should be a maximum of five. The flowing are some of my reasons

  1. This will allow more players to get the opportunity to show what they are capable of. Some players are just on bench just because their team have exhausted their total number of substitute.

  2. It will ease the pressure on some of the players. Playing football for total of 90 minutes is not an easy task. I believe it will create room for some players who get tired in some matches to be substituted and others brought for better game.

  3. It will make the game more interesting to watch and partake in activities relating to it. In some games that runs to extra time, it is mostly seen that most of the players are tired. I believe that when five substitute are been made it will give the game a new strength and the energy to make the tension increase will rise. At he end i think it will give a good game with great momentum.

Solid points you brought here. Thank you.

Always a pleasure

The rule of substitutions has always been a room for debate, for the players they will prefer having to play 5 subs in a game but for the officials they think playing up to 5 subs in a game will give the teams with stronger squads an advantage over the teams with smaller squads or lesser brilliant players.

For me I think having to play 5 subs in games is better than playing 3 subs. The coronavirus has been one of the best reason to implement the 5 sub rule. Other leagues have adapted it but the premier league is still adamant to the idea of 5 subs. For me it’s the ideal rule as teams will have the chance to protect their players expecially in the second round of the league matches. It also prevents players from getting injured.

The players will certainly be worn out. Thanks.

I had always reasoned on why a club would buy players and only a first set of eleven regularly gets playing time. Psychologically, it weaken other members of a team knowing that they are regarded as second fiddles. Like in all other facets of life talents not put to use in time gets diminished. Same is also applicable to football.

Now to the question on how many subs are to be substituted in a match? Well, football itself, has evolved with time, I see nothing wrong whatsoever to substitute up to seven players in match. It will automatically give hope to other players bench to give their all, knowing that there's a possibility of them playing anyways.

Secondly, in my opinion, it may give the club an overall view of the talents in the team. The constant injuries sometimes are caused because of overuse of player. I absolutely think seven substitutions will be ideal.

Thank you for viewing my post. I truly appreciate.

That is certainly a way of dealing with injuries. Thanks.

5 substitutions is laudable as things stand. I think its right to also allow 9 subs on the bench. Were are not in normal times
