Greetings everyone,
For some time now, we have have seen massive progress in our community both in terms of quality content creation and that of increased retention among our community members. This is quite a good reflection of the collective efforts of admins and moderators along with some other steemians to keep our community lively and active.
However, there is still the lingering case of plagiarism within the community which is something we have spoken about time and again and have expressed our dislike to users who engage in this act. For quite some time now, this issue had died down and the culprits we usually find are that of newbies who might now be joining steemit.
Unfortunately, it has been recently discovered that one of our very own moderators is a culprit of this act. It came as a big surprise to me because this user has had quite a positive impact in the community and worked just as hard to earn his role. After analyzing the posts detected by @the-gorilla, I see no choice than to relieve him of his duty as a community moderator regardless of his contributions.
Although, it is difficult to let someone of good value go, rules are rules and whoever is found guilty of this act shall face the tune of our rules.
It is important for me to iterate that our community is an honest one with no intention of condoning any form of abuse.
I therefore relieve @edmund.nef of his duty effective immediately. I am deeply disappointed to see a moderator default in such way in our community which could end up tarnishing our good name and retard the positive progress we have worked so hard to build.
In the past, we have muted several users. And through our membership validation process, we have managed to educate various newcomers who are trooping in. That way, we help them understand the rules so they can stand a chance at positive growth in the community.
I hope this serves as a strong deterrent to other members as it is clear that any user who is found guilty of this act would not be spared.

I appreciate your kind words @the-gorilla. This is surely a setback that could affect our image but it needed to be done. It is too bad a trusted leader was rather an offender.

Feel bad though because his contest alone motivates me but seeing him in this act is uncalled. It is football and anything can happen and despite the fact the deeds has been done, we need to move because football is our culture here.
