Good morning, Steemians! 😊
Shepherd’s Pie, yum. 😊
The turkeys are getting bolder, even coming over while we’re outside and moving around. 😊
I love the copper colour in their feathers. 😊
I don’t know if this will play or not; (though I did double click it and it played for me,) but it’s a short video of our turkeys and a couple squirrel friends stopping by at the same time. Let me know if it doesn’t work and I’ll try again. 😊
Have you ever watched a Tom turkey putting on a show for the hens? It’s quite impressive as they splay their feathers and show off for them, all while calling to them trying to get them to look over and be impressed. 😊
We’ve now figured out a couple of things about our corn, to help us prepare for this planting season…first, the Vesey’s seed doesn’t seem to have a good germination rate, this could be our fault, but we’ll know for sure after we complete our second germination test…and second, our corn seed is quite healthy, even being several years old and will do well again this year. 😊
The chickens heard we had some grass in the basement and came over to see if we’d share…we did. 😊
We enjoyed some fresh tomatoes from our 3-year-old dining room tomato plant and our basement lettuce was crispy with our tacos last night. 😊
It is a gloomy, grey, and wet day here today, but the flock of wild turkeys coming to visit me on my morning walk made it much better! 😊
Hanging out with my squirrel friends, this gal up here on the railing asked me for more after she’d finished her first bunch of seeds. 😊
This gal joined us for snack time and there was a third, but it was too shy to get a picture of. 😊
We’re hoping the turkey flock will hang around through spring and we’ll get to hang out with them while were sitting outside enjoying our tea and coffee. That would be so cool, even cooler than them coming towards me while I’m doing my morning walk. 😊
All the garden beds in our main garden have been cleared of snow this week and the turkeys and our chickens are working diligently to scratch it all up for us. The pigeons have been working on the pasture garden beds behind our main garden and they’re all doing a fantastic job. 😊
The Blackbirds, Red-winged Blackbirds, and European Starlings; (all in the trees behind the turkeys,) arrived this week. 😊
It’s crazy how happy it makes me to see them coming. I love that the turkey hens all come running towards me now, instead of away from me. 😊
Well, that was how things have been going for us here. I hope you have all been safe and healthy and have had an amazing week! I’m grateful to God for blessing us with another week to share with you here. 😊 God bless you all. 😊 Have an awesome week everyone! 😊
