'Sri Padasthana' is a sacred place that is well known to all the people of the world. It is especially a place of worship for Buddhists. After the third arrival of the Lord Buddha to Sri Lanka, people from all over the world come to worship to the sacred footprint placed on the top of the 'Samanthakuta' rock.

Sri Padasthana is located in the Central Highlands of the Ratnapura District in the Sabaragamuwa Province. There are three main ways to reach Sri Padasthana. A 1) Hatton-Nallathanni, 2) Ratnapura-Palabaddala, 3) Kuruwita-Erathna roads. Beginning on Unduvap Poya Day and ending on Vesak Poya Day, people will have the opportunity to worship Sri Pada for a period of five months.

So with the current rapidly spreading corona pandemic, we have to stay home and be careful. While I was like this, I remembered that this time I was thinking of going to worship at the 'Sri Padasthana', but I could not go. So at the same time, I remembered the last time I went to 'Sri Padasthana'. So today I am going to share with you about that wonderful journey.

After the 2019 Unduvap Poya Day, everyone had the opportunity to worship Sri Padasthana for the year 2019/20. So I went on this journey while I was studying at the university at this time. Initially, there were about twenty-five or thirty students on our badge willing to go on this pilgrimage. But like every trip, only five boys joined in the end.🤭

Anyway, on 21/12/2019, four of my friends and I went to the Fort Railway Station at around 9 am to take the Badulla train to Hatton at 10 am. So we started the Badulla train at 10 am and reached Hatton around 3 pm. Then we took lunch from Hatton and collected the food we needed for the trip. Then we took the 'Hatton-Nallathanni' bus in front of the Hatton railway station to 'Nallathanniya'. Then we cleaned up the 'seetha-gangula' and started our journey from 'Nallathanni' to the 'Uda-maluwa' at around 8 pm.

We arrived 'Uda-maluwa' around 1 am. Then he worshiped Sri Pada and stayed 'Uda-maluwa' until morning watching the Sunrise(ඉර සේවය). Around 6.30 am we started the journey back to the 'Pahala-Maluwa'. We came to the 'Pahala-Maluwa' along the 'Palabaddala' road.

• Garbage Collection Program at Sri Padasthanaya..

At that time, our main objective of the Siripada worship was to collect garbage on both sides of the road from the Uda-Maluwa to the Pahala-Maluwa. We were able to do it as successfully that day as we thought. It's just another passion in my life, and it's a great pleasure to be able to do it that way successfully.
