Yesterday was the second qualifying match for Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup. The match under Group A was played today against Ireland.

Ireland won the toss and elected to bowl first. Kusal Perera and Pathum Nissanka were the opening batsmen. Kusal Perera's wicket was taken in the first over by this ireland bowlers who did not give them a chance to get off to a successful start. After that Dinesh Chandimal and Avishka Fernando who came to bat were diverted to the stadium respectively by the Ireland bowlers.

Wanidu Hasaranga and Pathum Nissanka strengthened Sri Lanka's innings which was in 03 wickets for 08 runs. The partnership on 123 runs for the fourth wicket to strengthen Sri Lanka's scoreboard. Wanidu Hasanraga scored 71(47) for the first half century for Sri Lanka in the ICC T20 World Cup this year. Pathum Nissanka 61(47) also scored his maiden World Cup half century.
