I write this with a heavy heart about the heartbreaking passing of Veteran Singer Nipun Sanath Nandasiri. There are fewer artists who can touch the rock bottom of our hearts. He is one of them. The feeling he can give with his unique and deep voice is simply amazing.
Rest in peace, beloved Mater, Sanath Nandasiri!
This song alone can make you cry, even the most stone-hearted listener. Both the music and voice can provoke emotional part of the heart. As per my understanding, it touches on the impermanence of life.
He is a genius in Music. He is a singer, musician, music director, composer, and playback singer. He had his Professional Education from Bhatkhande Music Institute. He received a first class at the "Nipun" examination in 1992, becoming the first Sri Lankan to do so. He was also a Lecturer at Kelaniya University and was later appointed as the Chancellor of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts. He went high in Educational Background.
But meanwhile, he got closer to the people with his unique creations. He has a wide range of genres including Pop, soul, Classical, rhythm and blues, Indian classical music, etc. He is simply an emotional singer.
Some of his famous songs are, Dedunne Pata Patin, Atha Epita, Nirawan Swarna Dwarayen, Numbe Suwanda Pirunu, Eka Yayata Mal Peedunu, Eda Meda Thura, Yaashodara, Wikasitha Watha Kamale, Waradak Kalth, Adara Samarum, Me Prathama Wasnthaya, etc will always be remembered and recite among people.
His contribution to the Sri Lankan Music Industry will be immortal. His songs will always be in people's hearts. Rest in peace, Sir Sanath Nandasiri and thank you for everything!!
