First Half an Year in Steemit | 5% to SL Charity

Don’t need any other examples to convince me how fast the time is flying. I still feel like I am in my first months in Steemit but it has been six months for today for my steemit journey. Half a year has passed unknowingly.

I started my Steemit journey on 12th November 2020 as a newbie with my introduction post.

Then I knew nothing about Steemit other than posting a simple post. That was also with the help of my sister who was a talented member here.

But after that I learnt little by little with time. Now I have a good understanding about Steemit and hope to learn more.
My sister always helped me in my journey. Also the support of the other Sri Lankan members here is a blessing to me. Specially the help of @randulakoralage is a great help. As well I could get to know people from the other countries too. They also are so friendly and helpful. With the help of those people I could be an active and consistent member here in Steemit.

Special things in my Steemit life

• Earlier I had not written any article for any social platform. So Steemit gave me that opportunity and now I have written a considerable number of posts in this time.

• And I was lucky to have your comments on my posts. That was also a new thing to me. Some of the comments were so encouraging. It made me inspired to write more.

• One of the best moments of my Steemit life is winning the first place of spud4steem. That was really a turning point in my steemit journey. After that I participated several supd4steems.

• Also I had the chance to organize a contest in one week in Steem Sri Lanka Community. That was also a turning point to me as I could get to know many people with that. And I was able to complete the contest successfully with the help of the other members.

• I had a hope of helping a needed family when I will do a job in the future. But I could start helping the others because of the charity fund and I participate the phase 1 in Elpitiya.

What Steemit gave me

If I tell what steemit gave me in two words, it is a “better me”.

Writing skills and creativity

I remember how much time I got to write a post and how my writing was in the first days here in steemit. But with the help of the others I could improve my writing skills. Also my English has improved a lot too. As well, it took really long time for me to type in the keyboard earlier, but now that time is lesser.

The Steemit family

As I earlier said, I could get to know people from my country and the other countries in the world. They are a great gift that I got from this platform.

Steem

Now I have this much Steempower and only few is wanted to complete 2000 and hope to complete it before next month. I powered up more and more steem power as I understood that it is the best thing. Also steemit was been a financial support for me.

My mental health

Steemit does a huge job in maintaining my mental health. It is just like a hobby to me as I am fond of writing and reading posts. I like to read about other countries and the skills of other people. So steemit suits me a lot. In this pandemic season this gives me a lot of help to expel my stress. These days I hardly have anything to do so steemit make my days.

These are some of the ways that steemit helps me and there are a lot more. In these all ways it makes a better me out of the me who I am today.

So I am so thankful for my sister @sandu for introducing this platform to me and helping me to grow here. And thank you all.
