Hello friends,
I’m new to this community and this is my first post for the community. I would like to introduce a bit about myself. I’m Chamodi Nayanathara. I’m a French and English language teacher by profession working in an International school in Negombo. I was graduated from University of Peradeniya, Srilanka having a BA in Arts. I love writing articles and reading books in my free time.
If you want to know more about me you can check my Achievement01post.
I want to share something important as the first post.
We all may fail in some instances in our life. According to my experiences when we fail in any situation I cried and gave up my attempts. We think that all our attempts are in vain. Sometimes people try to hide themselves from the society and even people suicide as they cannot bear up the failure. People may fail in school examinations, in jobs, in family life or even in parenthood. We shouldn’t give up in our life.
We have to build up self-confidence in order to face challenges. I’m not a child who is talented for studies when I was a child. When I was facing the term examinations in years 1-4 I didn’t get high marks for subjects I was not appreciated. I was only talented for sports. But my parents supported me and encouraged me a lot. When the time came to face my scholarship exam in year 5 teachers selected 15 students from each class predicting those will definitely pass the exam. I was not in the list. But I didn’t give up. I started studying hard for the exam then I faced the examination with self-confidence. When the results come I had passed with a high rank and some of the students who were in the prediction list had failed the examination. That was the first motivation for me and my parents about my studies. Then I faced my OL exam with high expectations. But I couldn’t achieve as I was expecting. But the results were enough to choose a new school. I wanted to study languages as I’m keen on language studies. I started studying for AL examination much harder than ever but My mother got a cancer in thyroid in 2014 so I had to run for her treatments as my father has to work hard to spend for my mother. Then my mother fully recovered after many treatments. also unfortunately my father passed away three months before the exam in 2015. That was the greatest downfall of me. I didn’t go to school or even foe any extra classes those three months. I didn’t even study. Teachers have given good comments on me about my studies before my father died. By life failed. The whole family depended on father’s monthly income. I was financially down. But I didn’t give up my exam. I was a child who promised my parents to get 3A s for AL exam but when I the exam day came my mother told me not to get 3A s but to just try to pass the exam only as she knew that I did nothing after my father’s death.
The results came but I have passed the exam with a high district rank and I got selected to University of Peradeniya specialized in French language. I didn’t give up anytime. I have given the maximum pride that I can for my parents. My path to success as a teacher who is financially stable is not a bed of roses. There were people who insulted me who discouraged me as well as who threatened me in my life. But I had an ambition and I worked hard for it as a result I could gain what I’m experiencing now.as a teacher I teach students not only the subject matters but also life lessons through my experiences to win their lives as well.
The message that I have to give you all is not to give up in failures. Failures are the pathways to success. Failures teach us lessons to stand straight against any challenges without falling down. There may be many people even in this community who has faced number of challenges than me for sure. I’m really happy for the success of all the community members and I wish all of you to overcome challenged and win your life successfully.
I hope this will be enough for today as I wanted to share my ideas and experiences with you. I hope the support from community leaders and other members to grow up myself by helping all of you as well in the community. Thank you all.
You are still young, but you have had a lot of adversity. But in the future, I hope there will be only good things.
