First of all, I take this opportunity to thank @sandu to organize such competition for steemit users. So I'll start my story I am stay in India.so my university is closed on March 14th and my final year exams are supposed to be finished at end of April but unfortunately I was able to write my exam in September 21st and between march to September India is under lockdown and people are stuck in the home, and I had to spend my quarantine days in a hostel, with my roommate @pusidu and others, all of the local Indian friends are left the hostel as soon as the lockdown begins. So here I'll describe what I did during those quarantine days.

When the calendar turns into April we all know we are going to ready for Sinhala and Hindu new year it is one of the major festivals in Sri Lanka, but in April we came to know that we are not able to go back

to SL in April so we are ready to celebrate Sinhala and Hindu new year here in India with the small number of students and hostel staff it was a wonderful experience. With the help of youtube, we cooked milk rice,Mun kaum , kiri toffy after a lot of struggles we request management to permit to use the hostel kitchen for cooking those items and they granted the permission, and hostel staff and lecturers who stay in the hostel also helped us a lot. After all, we made an awrudu table and we served those Sri Lankan dishes to Indians also and they appreciated our effect and they are very happy.

After some days we have organized some awrudhu games for hostel friends and we enjoyed a lot and we didn’t feel like we are in quarantine and a pandemic is going on, the university also appreciated our work and they posted about this in their monthly journal.

Vesak Celebration

When quarantine comes to May, we all know as a Buddhist may is an important and holy month in the calendar and we are planning to celebrate our Vesak festival here so from the beginning of the month we start making Vesak lanterns we couldn’t able to find bamboo sticks and as an alternative,we used strews, it works and finally we able to create 15 lanterns and decorated using papers.so in the Vesak day we are made small Pooja for the grate load Buddha and did our rituals and it was a new experience for the Indian people, using clay lamps we decorate hostel premises. Everybody appreciated our work and here some images and small documentary video which we created and released to the YouTube

Quarantine is newly experienced for everyone and we don’t have any idea about what to do so several time I visited the college and my lecturers always used to told follow some online courses they suggested some websites for me and finally I choose courser which is famous online learning website and complete courses of Plant tissue culture biotechnology and basic industrial biotechnology certificate course.
After that I came to know about the google garage courses from my roommate @pusidu and I start social media marketing and I was able to complete that course within a month and @pusidu did some post about this and you can check this from the below link.

Google Digital Garage
During a boring time, I used to play the LUDO game it's a wonderful game that can interact with friends. And during that time my university department organize webinar series about “Plant biotechnology” and I attend all the series and I got 3 certificates for participation and a quiz.
My quarantine is going like this and I must thank @sandu to organize such a contest and give us to express quarantine diary, and I hope soon this pandemic get over and we can get back to our normal life.
Thank you!
