The Amazon is the world's number one tropical rainforest. But there are many other tropical rainforests in the world besides the Amazon. Meanwhile, the Sinharaja forest in Sri Lanka has a special place. About 60% of the plants in Sinharaja cover an area of 88.64 sq km and are said to be endemic. Sinharaja is a World Heritage Site with high biodiversity. Here is a brief description of some of the world's largest rainforests larger than the Sinharaja.

It is made up mainly of enclosed spruce, bamboo, and coniferous trees, and in some places is covered with ice and even glaciers. Due to the heavy rainfall, the area is generally humid. It has a foggy climate.

4 . Daintree Rainforest

This tropical rainforest is located northeast of Queensland, Australia. It covers an area of about 650,000 acres. It is bordered by Mosman Peak and the Bloomfield River. Part of this is the Denturi National Park. Many ancient plants can be seen here.

Cambodia Laos and the Malay Peninsula, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand were once the most vast Southeast Asian rainforests. Today, however, they are rapidly disappearing due to deforestation.
These forests provide shade for many rare birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles. Due to deforestation, these species are also under great threat. This is an area that once had the highest biodiversity in the world. At that time, there were about 200 species of plants per hectare.

6 . Pacific tropical rainforest

It is the world's largest coastal tropical rainforest. It is prevalent in Canada and the United States. The area under it is about 60,346 square kilometers. The width of this forest is about 150 km. Conifers stand out in the Pacific tropical forest. Redwood plants can be seen on the southern borders of the forest. These plants are considered to be the largest plants currently on earth. Scientists speculate that there may have been redwoods here as far back as 2,000 years ago.
