Elon Musk is like a god of technology these days. He tries many different things to make the world a better place. I personally really appreciate his actions in the global scope. In 2020 Elon mask demonstrated a Neuralink experiment with pigs with a chip on pig’s brains. What it is doing is that tracking the brain signals of the pig and try to forecast the activities done by it using the machine learning algorithm they have developed using artificial intelligence.
Recently Neuralink demonstrated monkey playing video games using only his brain. Cool right? Neuralink uses Bluetooth technology to transmit the data to the computer. The Neuralink chips are surgically implanted in the monkey’s brain. Those are very tiny than you think.
This is mainly developing to use for human patients. A person with paralysis could train a computer simply by imagining an action and brain signal be picked up in real-time. Elon Musk is saying that someone with Neuralink can use their smartphone faster than someone using their phone by hand. And he believes that paralysis people also be able to walk using this technology.
I can not imagine how far this human-computer interface will go. But controlling a computer or mobile phone using our mind is unimaginable. Every technology people develops uses for a good thing and bad things. Since this is a very critical thing, as humans we have to be more careful with this advancement of technology. Since you and I can not change the things that the world’s billionaires doing, I feel like we are helpless in the upcoming future.
