I Volunteered TEDx Colombo | What An Amazing Experience | Ideas Worth Spreading | 10% to SL Charity

If you see my youtube history, You will be amazed. Yeah, I’m telling you it’s filled with ted talks. I love to watch these videos because they are really inspiring. The meaning of TED means the first letters of technology, Entertainment, and Design.

TED is an American company. But if we want to spread new ideas with the world, we can also organize a ted talk. But we are independent of the mother company. That’s why the “x” is there for indication we are independently organizing this event.

When applications were called for the TEDx Colombo 2018, I immediately applied to it and got selected as a volunteer. In there we had to plan the decorations for the “Nelum Pokuna Theater”. On the event day, we had to handle all kinds of logistics, ticketing, participant handling, and much more things.

What I really like about this event is the people I met there. They are very good and talented people. Some people personally helped me with some of the difficult occasions of my life. That’s why this event is so much important to me.

Another thing I like is I met very famous people also. We all watched “Koobiyoo” right? Then you’ll know peter de Almeda. Yeah! I got a chance to speak with him also. Cool right?

At last, people have shared some of their ideas.

The importance of these ted talks are can not be valued. I can give you one good example. Now we are suffering from a pandemic, right? In 2014, Bill Gates predicted that the next big trouble will be a worldwide pandemic. Yeah, the idea came as a TED talk presented by him. Likewise, many more important ideas become a reality in these ted talks. If you like to learn something new, I encourage you to watch those videos when you have time.
