Flying Shoe 2023🏆

I usually rest well and take a good sleep whenever I have a meet because if we didn’t get a proper time to recover, all our hardwork will be spoiled. But it was different this time. I mentioned earlier also that our university is organizing an invitational track and field championship which was to be held on 6th of April. We spent the whole day before the meet until late night in the ground and we were supposed to be back in the ground at 6.00 p.m. for last minute preparations. So when I went to sleep the day before the meet, I was already exhausted. Not only me. All of us would have been like that. When the alarm started to ring in the morning I didn’t wanna get up but I had to because we can’t just turn up at the time of the event since we are the organizer.

We had a rushed three hour period of time from 6.00 – 9.00 a.m. and I believed none of us had the energy to compete when the meet started at 9.00 a.m. I was so not in shape to compete after working three days nonstop without a proper sleep. But all of us had the determination to bring the trophy back to our university. So it was all about the mentality. I won first places in my two main events. I was supposed to do that alone. But I was dragged to compete in high jump even before I could compete in my event. I refused first telling that I need to save my leg for to win those events. But they wanted me to at least get 3rd place to get some marks for the uni. I couldn’t reject it after that. I couldn’t do my maximum because I didn’t train for high jump recently and I didn’t put much power because my take-off leg was still injured, so I didn’t wanna strain my leg before the main events. They asked for a third place and I gave a second place. Everyone did their best like that.

I couldn’t take any pictures of the decorations we did because morning was so rushed with competing and working. Even after my events were over, I was helping to write certificates and preparing for the closing ceremony. Little did we know a happy news was waiting for us at the closing ceremony. We won all womens, mens and overall championship. Others may think that we organize a meet to win the championship, but only we know what we went through to achieve our victor. So it means a lot for us. still, we couldn’t just go back home on that happy note. We had to stay over to make sure that everything is cleaned and handed over all the equipments.

This might me my last meet as the vice captain of the team and what a fine a way to mark the ending!
